Scope
The motivation behind building Ivicris
By education, I'm a game artist, and initially, when I had started this project it was a much different monster than what it is becoming today. At first, I tried to make this a comic but soon realized that the scope of it was well beyond what I could achieve with my artwork and I decided instead to focus on writing it. Then my father died, and over the next year, I reflected on my time with him. There was much left unsaid between us, and in the end, I had come to realize many of his sins against me. These books are my catharsis, my way of saying everything I felt I couldn't.
The goal of the project
I want to destroy you and build you up with a sentence.
Theme
Character Agency
When I switched from video game to comic (Way before I began writing a lot of it out) it was paramount to me to have the main character be powerless and humble. Though there are some with monstrous power, to borrow a line from J.R.R. Tolkein "Even the smallest person can change the course of the future."
