The Blackcloak Guard
20 years ago, in the days when Gaspar Salehi was speaker of the wastes, the hall of the fallen was nearly conquered by a covert operation of Yraham Obsidian Shadows. The royal guards were completely decimated by these elite soldiers. In the wake of the attack, Gaspar Salehi looked for a way to shore up the defenses of the hall. Even with the assistance of magic, he was unable to get the guards he looked for. In the guise of Roshan, the popular priest of death in the city, Gadiel offered to draw energy from the graveyard of souls, the realm of Mordes, in order to augment their soldiers. Not knowing this wasn't possible, Gaspar obliged. Gadiel created a conduit a few miles out of the city where he drew energy from the shadowfell in order to augment the soldiers. In doing so, he bound them to him, using them as his agents in the capital. Now, he controls the training and indoctrination of new soldiers into this warrior cult, taking only the most promising recruits and soldiers into their ranks. Since then, the speakers of the waste to come next have been told but none of them have known the truth either.
The blackcloak guard are strong and tough, adept at beating back assault and destroying their enemies. they are elite and among the most deadly fighting forces in the world. Their true purpose are as soldiers for Gadiel, the fallen angel who seeks ascension. He intends to use them to take the city for the Yraham in order to draw out the alliance.
