Olmaath

Olmaath is a powerful fiend within the nine hells and one of the lieutenants of Dispater. He is a halfbreed fiend, being a devil that was partially corrupted by the abyss. Because of this, he is known as the Infernal Chimerus. This gives him traits of both demons and devils. While this in itself is remarkable, the two fiends that birthed him were of immense power and importance. His mother was Lilith, Mother of Demons, while his father was the disgruntled Archdevil Bel, who was frustrated with Zariels rulership of Avernus. They came to meet each other in the year 510 BS, after his failed attempt to subvert Zariels rulership. His demonic side hates his enslavement to the order of the nine hells, while his devilish side loves the system of order. As such, he is a being that wishes to ascend into godhood and replace Asmodeus as god of the nine hells as well as integrate it with the abyss. He is incredibly powerful, being about on the tier of a demigod. He is also notably cruel and egotistical, seeking power only for the sake of wielding it. Unlike Asmodeus, he has no ideas of a better tomorrow or ideas of being a better ruler. For him, the only concept of a good ruler is one who wields absolute power and does not give it up for any reason at all.
He commonly walks among mortals, taking up the guise of human men. There have been many prophecies made about his earthly form, as it bears many extraordinary aspects, but all of them are lies fabricated to build up a power that would allow him to supplant his master as lord of hell. His true form reflects his half breed nature. He bears some resemblance to a pit fiend, although much larger in size. He has large wings and black armor fused to his form. He has great horns and wields an immense sword with eyes on its hilt.
He has many children, taking the forms of cambions or true fiends. While most of them are not biological children, they are powerful fiends who have found themselves bound to his service for one reason or the other. Most of them are devils as he places little actual trust in demons but keeps vast kennels of them in his Citadel of Ash within the iron city of Dis. He has tasked these beings to seek out various methods of ascension, including leylines, aether manipulation, worship, planar exposure, and even shards of reality. They endlessly serve their father, knowing that the slightest bit of disobedience will surely spell the end of their lives. He monitors all of them constantly, using magic to see where his eyes and spies cannot. The children of Olmaath are as follows:
Desroth (cambion)
Deya(Erinyes)
Echris(Narzugon)
Luma(Marilith)
Urzemon(pit fiend)

Personal history

During the centuries of peace following the great scourge, the God Asmodeus sought to create yet greater horrors as the war was not yet finished in his eyes. So furious was he with the shield that prevented him access to the planes that he delved deep into twisted powers without a care for the consequences. The creatures he created were brutal killing machines without a shred of mercy in their veins, yet he was not alone in this endeavor. For being a god of order, Asmodeus was not especially disposed towards the creation of such creatures. In this, he was assisted by one named Lilith, a follower of his who had been the queen of Nessus when it was in the material plane. She possessed a natural accumen towards the creation of monsters, perhaps due to her fascination with Cerathor. They created many creatures together and though Asmodeus held a deep disgust for them, he carried on in the name of the war. But a tension remained, and it reached its apex when Lilith revealed her finest creation: the Demogorgon. A beast of hunger who sought to devour all life within the abyss deep within it. Asmodeus could not allow this to exist, but when he sought to destroy the beast, Lilith intervened. He cast her out of his citadel at Nessus, but this allowed ample time for the Demogorgon to escape and begin its rampage through the hells. This would mark the beginning of the blood war, but the escalation took some time. During this time, the Archdevil Bel, who had just been defeated in a rebellion where he saught to retake the throne of Avernus from Zariel, looked to Lilith as an ally. They met and she made him her consort during this time. This lasted for a short period before the clash between Demogorgon and Asmodeus sundered the nine hells and Lilith joined him in his flight to the Abyss. Brief though it was, this was enough for her to become pregnant with the spawn of an Archdevil and the Queen of the Abyss herself. Thus was Olmaath born, but Lilith saw that he would not survive in the Abyss, for he would inevitably find himself a target of demon princes due to his infernal blood. As such, she sent him to the nine hells where she bade Dispater, who owed her a favor, to raise the child well.
Thus Olmaath grew up within the iron tower in the center of the city of Dis. Dispater rarely paid him much heed, but he found himself raised by the lieutenants of the iron king and his every need was met. He was raised to be a duke of hell, for Dispater saw within him the power that raged in his blood. In his every dream, Lilith awaited him, raising him just as much herself as did the servants of the iron king. Though they have never met in person, it is clear that he is her daughter and she is the only one that he truly respects and yields to. As he grew older, more and more of his handlers became afraid of him as his cruelty and ambition began to show its face. They cried out to their lord for help but Dispater was unwilling to cross Lilith like that, so instead he cast the young fiend from his tower and gifted him a Citadel on the edge of the city of iron, where he might torture souls and ensnare mortals to his hearts content.
Olmaath operates in a similar way to most other fiends, but is far less open about his intentions. He would lure in victims under one promised price which was purposefully worded in a dubious way only to seize their souls for eternity. Unlike other devils, he does not gather souls solely for personal power or influence or even for the cause of the hells as a whole. Instead, half of his accumulated souls are gradually fed to the abyss which in turn feeds him in response as well as allowing him to summon demons from the abyss. This is against the rules established by Asmodeus for the operation of the nine hells, though not direct enough for the Lord of the Ninth to take direct action.
Thus he schemes in the shadows seeking eventual dominion over the hells. Be exerts dominion over less powerful fiends through sheer force of will and threat of violence. His strength is such that he has even stolen servants from Dispater himself, actions that would normally invite retribution, but do not as Dispater fears the wrath of Lilith.
