Goldcrest
Greatest City of Jezat, Goldcrest is an urban metropolis located in the central Dresgari Plains. It is currently the largest city in Jezat and its leader is also among the most powerful individuals on the continent. It is a city of honor and chivalry but also of war and conquest. Social standing is everything in goldcrest, and this standing is determined by honor as well as skill at arms. Or at least, this is how the city operates for the ruling Leonai class. Despite this warrior culture of the city, Leonai make up less than half of the population of this metropolis. It has grown from its simple roots to become the greatest trading center on the continent. It is a center of fine goods and food as well as weapons and soldiers. The city is surrounded by great walls of stone which are painted tawny to match the color of the plains. The roofs of the city mainly follow this same pattern, but the rest of the city is awash with color. The Leonai love their purples, reds, and blues alongside the signature gold of the city.
Demographics
The largest demographic of Goldcrest is Leonai, making up 46% of the population. After that, 16% are tabaxi, 8% are lizardfolk, 7% are Drugrari 6% are gnomes, 6% are telliorin, 5% are humans, 2% are Salvarin, 1% are Aarakocra, 1% are centaurs with the remaining 2% split between a dozen less common races.
Government
The City of Goldcrest is ruled by the Dawnkin pride of Leonai, specifically the pure lineage that descends from the original founders of the city. For the most part it is a monarchy, with the Dawnkin pride and higher status individuals having more power in the city. However, the people of lower status are not entirely cut out. If they feel that anyone has sufficiently challenged their honor or that of their family or even just caused a great deal of harm to their family in a malicious way, they have the right to challenge them to a duel. As such though Goldcrest is definitely a rather divided society between social levels, there is a unifying martial tradition that bridges the gap between social levels.
Industry & Trade
Goldcrest is very much a trade city, and a central one. Goods produced all over the dresgari plains are taken to Goldcrest to be exported down the river of gold to be exported overseas. It is also a center for caravans heading all over Jezat and an agricultural juggernaut.
Districts
Goldcrest is a city split into large dominions which are each ruled over by separate offshoots of the overall Dawnkin pride or by other individuals of power within the city. The following are the most important districts of goldcrest. There are others of course, but smaller residential districts do not really merit mentioning here.
The Crown Dominion is the most affluent district of the city and ruled directly by the highest members of the Dawnkin pride. It is home to wealthy individuals as well as administrative and government buildings.
The Steel Dominion is a small dominion dedicated to the military might of the Dawnkin family. It is under military rule by Kolma Dawnkin, who is a a mighty warrior of the plains. This dominion is small, but it holds barracks, armories, stables and other military buildings in the city. As such, it is under high guard at most times.
The Cloth Dominion is a larger dominion just north of the crown dominion. It is home to universities, churches, museums and other such cultural/intellectual and religious sites. The only people who live here are extremely wealthy noblemen and high ranking priests/professors.
The Silver Dominion is the primary economic and trade district of the city. It is home to markets as well as larger shops and is named as it is for the money that flows through it. Several large banks are located within this district, controlling the finance for the majority of the city.
The Twilight Dominion is the westernmost dominion of the city as well as its slums. As it is positioned between the steel dominion and the Clouded Spine, the people here live in near perpetual darkness. It is mostly lawless, as the lion guard rarely bother patrolling here and there is very little wealth in this district. As such, it is pretty much ruled by the Negotiator, who has set up his base here and holds great sway over the locals.

Guilds and Factions
The Syndicate is a criminal organization that is based in Goldcrest. It deals with the trafficking of illegal goods as well as even darker tasks. It is led by an individual known as the negotiator, who is known as one of the most dangerous individuals in all of Jezat.
Points of interest
There are a number of important buildings within Goldcrest. Here are some of the most prominent.
The Fist of the Dawn is the central citadel within Goldcrest. It is a massive fortress topped with dozens of separate towers and turrets. From each of these turrets shine separate spheres of light, the manifestation of the Dawnkin family's connection to Tildor. These lights illuminate the entirety of the city day and night, except for the twilight dominion. The massive size of this citadel also casts an endless shadow over the twilight dominion.
The Lion's Sanctum is an enormous cathedral dedicated to Tildor. It has a domed roof and four central towers flanked by expanding wings of rooms. It is the largest church on the continent and the second largest church of Tildor in the entire world. There is a statue of a Liondrake before the entrance.
The Arcanum Exhibition is a rather wealthy and afluent museum within the cloth dominion. It displays a number of priceless magical and historical artifacts to a private audience. It is an incredibly old establishment that has existed within Goldcrest since shortly after its founding.
The Black Eel is a small fishery in the twilight dominion, which acts as a front for the Syndicate.
The Ebony Phoenix is the premier magic shop of goldcrest.
The Vault of Goldcrest is the main bank in the city: which is also somewhat sanctioned by the Dawnkin Pride. It is among the most famous banks in the entire world.
