Goat King

The Goat King is the title bestowed on the owner of the goat who wins the Zegtag, or Goat of the Day competition at an annual Builder Gnome Festival of the Gazirad. The title carries no real duties, reward or accolades and is solely dependent on someone owning a winning goat. 

When the winning goat is chosen in the Zegtag, the owner steps forward to claim their prize. They are immediately shocked to learn (although it happens every year) they have been named The Goat King for that year's festival.

Qualifications

Owning the winning goat in the Zegtag "Goat of the Day" competition wins its own the honor of being named Goat King.

Duties

• Accept the Goat of the Day prize on behalf of their prize-winning goat. At the same time allow oneself to be bestowed the title of Goat King with great surprise, pretending they knew nothing about the honor, the competition, and possibly goats in general
• Wear the Goat Crown, allow the Goat Banner to be draped across their chest, and wield the Goat Scepter for the rest of the day. Convince their goat companion to wear the same.
• Accompany their winning goat (which, usually about this time they regret even bringing to the competition) to the Goat Pedestal, a raised platform in the middle of the festival grounds. There the two of them will stand, wave at passersby, and endure the occasional tossed morsel of food (for the goat).
• The Goat King and their goat are the Grand Marshals of the The Grand Zugzug parade
• Prime seating for the Vilnock.
