FB05: The Grand Hall

A thin film of sand covers the red-stone floor of this wide hall. There are no windows, making the chamber feel uncharacteristically dark. The walls are of red stone, decorated with both white and turquoise coral inlays of fish, seaweed, and shells. Flanking the front doors are two small alcoves containing life-sized statues of { Seakin } (Sea Elves) in loincloths, holding tridents. On the wall opposite are three doors. A pair of central white coral double doors are flanked on either side by singular wooden doors at either end of the hall.
  The pair of double doors that lead to the chapel (5) are stuck closed, similar to the front doors. A DC 12 Athletics skill check is required to open them. The wooden door to the bunk room (4) is locked. A Thieves Tools proficiency check, DC 15, can pick the lock. Otherwise, a DC 18 Athletics skill check may bash the door open. The door to the dining area (6) opens without any issue.   At the moment that any character touches any of the doors leading further into the monastery, both of the statues in the alcoves animate and move to attack the "intruders" (2 Guardian Statues). It is not necessary for the characters to attempt to open any door before the statues animate, simply touching the surface of any of the doors is enough.   Guardian Statue Statblock
