FB05: Dry Oasis in Iskatel: Fortunebound | World Anvil

FB05: Dry Oasis

You come upon an area of scattered palm trees and bushes, which counts as a lush abundance of plant life on this island. Exploring further to find the source of this abundance, you reach a large pool carved out of the rock by waterfalls cascading from the spires of red rock above it.
If there is currently a storm, or a storm was rolled during the previous actvity phase:
The pool is filled with water, with three separate waterfalls feeding it and small streams leaking out from its banks onto the sand and dirt beyond.
If there has been a storm within the last 24 hours, but not within the last activity phase:
The pool still retains some water, though it appears to be drying rapidly and the waterfalls that once fed it have completely dried up.
If there has been no storm activity for at least 24 hours:
Unfortunately, both the pool and the waterfalls that once fed it are completely dry.
This area is a sort of false oasis, in that it is a pool that fills only during storms and quickly dries up afterwards. It does, however, help to support a greater abundance of plant life and animals will frequently visit the spot looking for both food and water.   A character may determine that this area is dependent on rain and storms with either a Nature skill check or a Survival skill check, DC 10.   If the party engages in the Hunting/Foraging exploration activity while in this hex area, they may roll with advantage.   There is nothing else of interest in this area.
