The Ralkh Chrael Springs

The Rushing Springs

The sound of the river flowing with the winter melts, and the wind shaking the leaves of nearby trees is incredibly calming as you slip into the warm water. The rocks are soothing to the touch as you lean back, sighing softly. Steam rises from the springs due to the difference in temperature, and you watch it lazily. You were lucky to have come early enough that no one else is at the springs yet, and you get to watch the sun rise above the canopy of pine trees. You felt refreshed, invigorated.   Ralk Chrael Springs was worth the trip.

General

Located in the northern forests of Quecel (Kw-ss-elle), the Ralk Chrael hot springs are considered the "Gem of Quecel" due to how many consider the land to be solely forest with little else to its name. The name Ralkh Chrael is the closet written approximation of the Bloodkeeper language used to name it.   The numerous forests around the spring belong to numerous Leaf clans and when they retreated into the more dense forests, they stumbled upon the spring. They took ownership of it, using it for relaxation and ceremonial events. It was only when things died down that more humans explored the forest and came upon the springs.   Ralkh Chrael is a series of hot springs directly beside one of the main rivers running throughout Quecel, out from Lake Holpander.

Ralk Chrael Etymology & History

"Rhalk Chrall?" A human was leaning over one of the hot springs' rocks, frowning slightly. A heavy hiking bag pressing down on his back. The bloodkeeper bathing in the hot spring shook their head, ears flicking back. "<Rejuvenating Water,>" the demon repeated themselves in Demontongue, brow furrowing.   "Ralk Chrael?"   The bloodkeeper's tail flicked, and they let out a low grunt. "<Rejuvenating Water!>" They sunk deeper into the water, crossing their arms. They had no modesty to protect, but the water soothed them. "<Stupid human tongue, can't say anything right.>" Their ears flicked as the human worked the words over in their mouth over and over.

Alterations

There have been no alterations to the river and springs themselves, though some trails have been made through the forest to allow easier access to the them.   The Bloodkeepers that owe the land around the Springs have allowed extremely controlled tours around the forests, lakes, and rivers, and have agreed to small and more Tradtionalist homes; they are concerned that too much development will disturb the mana and magic in the springs.

That was such a lovely article! I love the idea of the pissed off bloodkeeper because the human cannot properly pronounce the name.
