Liander

King of Rydia

The current king of Rydia, and one of the more popular kings in recent years. He was sponsored by the White Rose, and won his kings duel against Horice of the Merchants guild against all odds after suffering a decisive blow to his hip that left him with his now famous limp.
One of his first acts as king was to broker a peace with Faris.
Generally beloved but tends to generate controversy with his more whimsical decisions. 
Many believe that it was weakness to sue for peace with Faris and that the war could have and should have been won.
Liander spent the first few years of his reign in great enmity with the Merchants guild, as they felt he had stolen their throne and subverted their plans. This would however soon start to change as the peace with Faris opened up various trade deals that were quick to sway their opinion of him. They can now be counted as some of his strongest allies.
