The streets of the district are quiet, completely empty save for a few birds that have come to scavenge for crumbs amongst the cobblestone. To many, it looks abandoned, empty and lonely, without life to be found anywhere. This is far from the case, those that live here move in the shadows, hiding their large bodies and keeping to themselves. If one pays attention, a glimpse of a shining orange scale may be seen, but even that is rare. If these people do talk to outsiders, it's through documents and signs. No one truly knows what these people do or even how they live their lives.
Orange Dragonkin are the descendants of one of the Elder Races and a Orange Dragon. As elusive as their ancestors, these people keep to themselves, shrouding their lives in layers of secrecy so that no one truly knows how they live or even what their greatest beliefs are. They hide themselves away in quiet villages and within their district in the Fearsome Maw, rarely seen and even less spoken to.
Above all else, it seems these people respect secrets and privacy. Their defining purpose is unknown thanks to this respect, but many assume it is also the purpose of service that all Dragonkin seem to carry. Orange Dragonkin are very much like the Chromatic Dragons they are descended from, following the elusive lifestyle of the Orange Dragons, hiding from the world and continuing life as they wish.

Anatomy

Orange Dragonkin share some specific traits with their Draconic ancestors that prove their ties to the Orange Dragons. Their facial features are often sharp, with a jawline that comes to a sharp point, similar to a beard, and a series of small horns protruding from their head. Fin-like ears and a long ridged tail as well as large muscular bodies are also common in Orange Dragonkin.
All Dragonkin inherit sharp claws, extremely strong and protective scales, as well as a breath weapon that they can use. Some of these traits are affected by the color of the Dragonkin as the many varieties of Dragons also vary greatly in their abilities. Orange Dragonkin often have a resistance to extreme heat while their breath weapon is volcanic in nature, producing a wave of intense heat and ash that will quickly reduce any material to a pile of ash. Orange Dragonkin are considered to have the hottest breath weapon of all Dragonkin.

While their coloration is in their name, Orange Dragonkin can still come in a variety of shades of orange, matching the shades found in the scales of Orange Dragons. Their scales can range from very light orange to a darker, burnt orange color. The color of their eyes has a much smaller range, often only being yellow, brown, red, green, grey, or purple.

Orange Dragonkin are a secretive lot, often choosing to live in small groups and villages that are far away from others of any race. They prefer to keep to themselves, even within their district in the Fearsome Maw where it is common to see an Orange Dragonkin but they rarely speak to others outside of their own color. Orange Dragons also are extremely secretive and live in remote locations, so this way of life is natural for this color of Dragonkin.
Because these communities are so secretive, little is truly known about the Orange Dragonkin and their lifestyles and culture. It is assumed that they focus on service, much like their brethren, but nothing has ever been studied that would completely confirm that. These people are known to be secretive and quiet, conversing in Draconic so as not to be understood by most outsiders.

Descended from the secretive Orange Dragon, they have some of the most durable bodies and can easily survive temperatures that would reduce other creatures to ash instantly.
