Order of Ishmanwo

In some lands where the Church of Life is the main religion, worshipers often consider Ishamanwo more of a Patron Saint then a pure deity or god. In some lands men see Ishmanwo as the only spirit worthy of their worship. Officially, the Order of Ishmanwo counts Ishmanwo somewhere between the two. A demi-god or arch angel given power by The Great Spirit to watch over mankind.   Though the Church of Life has followers of all races capable of goodness, followers are strictly of human blood. In some regions it is understood that halfings are more human than not, and as such, are seen as under the protection of Ishmanwo as well. Those half-humans, either mixed with elves, orcs, or dwarves, may be accepted into the congregation. Officially all who have human blood are welcome, but in reality some locals may have harsh prejudice towards these "mixed bloods".   Many who dedicate their lives to Ishmanwo are granted divine powers to grant aid to mankind.

Tenets of Faith

Protection of Humanity throughout Irth; tolerance to those races who do not seek our demise; and death to all abominations that seek only death for our people.

Granted Divine Powers

It is common for those that dedicate their lives to Ishmanwo and to the Order to gain divine powers through their piety. These folks are held with honor and respect by other humans, but are often viewed with mistrust by other races.

Sects

The Knights of Ishmanwo are a marshal sect of the Order. It is said that Ishmanwo himself grants divine power to those he chooses to become a Knight. The Knights rarely have numbers of a size that would be considered an army, but in times past Knights of Ishmanwo have been known to lead armies in service of the Order. More often though, a single knight will be called out on a quest to cull a clutch of goblins, or hunt down a grotesque monstrosity that threatens a loyal village.   A Knight of Ishmanwo is held with great respect and honor by nearly any human, but other races are often mistrustful of them, fearing the power they possess; knowing that a Knight means a sentinel for humans, an no other.
