The Battle of 0603

Military action

Task Force Phoenix strikes against the Tenebrean Remnant.

The first battle of the Remnant war was struck at 0603, when news of a fueling platform in that sector reached the colony.    A reinvigorated Task Force Phoenix, now sporting a small navy of their own, gathered interested parties from all over the colony and prepared for a decisive strike.   The plan had a single shuttle, using pirate codes and pretending to be damaged, boarding the station with an assault squad. While fighting was occurring within, the fleet would arrive, sending additional boarding waves, and dueling with the escorts assigned to protect the station.   The battle was brief, and the pirate vessels were taken with light resistance, boarded via teleport attacks.   Aboard the station, Desmond, Saul, Herb, Seung, and Malak split into smaller combat detachments, freeing prisoners on the west ark of the station against a timer meant to vent them all into space, capturing vital control rooms in the east, and finally, taking possession of the stores of munitions aboard meant for replenishing ships. As the station slowly fell to enemy forces around them, the pirates surrendered.   Interrogation of the stations captain advised the Greenbriar crew of a merchant caravan transporting goods fro the Remnant that meant to dock there. Waiting in ambush, they descended upon the ships and their torpedo boat escorts.   The battle was more fierce, several Task Force Phoenix ships taking hits, but in the end, all of the ships were either destroyed or captured- the platform itself towed back to Gudrun for repair, and re-deployment.
