Akio is the name of a title given to winners of the tradition "Akionetakoro", a tournament held during
Festival of Masks in
Akōra. The title is awarded by the Lord of
Mirauvai family, and has always been since its first introduction in 340 AE.
Akionetakoro
Each winner receives an amount of gold and the awarding title of Akio, and their name engraved into
The Atakoro Tree, the oldest tree, they say the names of those written are given divine blessings from the elemental genashi’. The Atakoro tree rests within the well-guarded fortress home of the Mirauvai.
Meaning
Akio means “the bright hero”. Many Akio go on to become guards of
The Nenrai, others go far and seek treasures across the lands of Iromendia. “Akionetakoro” means to choose a bright a hero.
