Tenets of Faith

"The path to power is not an idle one, nor a kind one. Evil is another word for ambitious, and the willful apathy of the Gods is what led to the destruction of Long Night. Step over the weak and downtrodden to rise to power, so one day there will be no weak and downtrodden to be had."

Holidays

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Asmodeus has been straightforward with his ultimate goal since his fall from the heavens, to become the ultimate power in the Planes.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Asmodeus' avatars looked like large , charismatic red-skinned humanoid with horns on the head with glowing red eyes. Overall, he provided charismatic and beautiful looks that captivated people. He always had a perfectly trimmed beard and wore very expensive red and black clothing, each of these cloths was valuable enough to cover the annual national spending of any nation.   Asmodeus true form however is entirely different, He is a malevolent entity with the body of an enormous centipede-like creature, large broken wings and a face held within the maw of a massive snake. this face changes to appear as the most comforting appearance for each person, putting them oddly at ease when approached by his true form. those who do see Asmodeus' true form are killed within a day. Only Mephistopheles has lived afterwards, a gift for unintentionally freeing Asmodeus.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Asmodeus' history is difficult to recount, as there are several telling's of his fall from Firstborn Angel, to Lord of Baathos to powerful God. Asmodeus' cult tells it as such, that The Firstborn Angel and Thrayn disagreed on the importance of balance in the Planes. Thrayn desired the taint of Chaos to be destroyed where as Asmodeus' felt it should be contained and studied, though they argued often it never came to blows. Asmodeus was perhaps Thrayn's closest friend during the Dawn Wars as the Firstborn God grew more and more distant with his fellow Gods. Overtime, Thrayn and Asmodeus would defy the will of the Firstborn, using the AberrationsĀ  themselves as warriors in their cause. While Thrayn sought to purify the Planes of corruption and vanity, Asmodeus sought balance. Though Thrayn was Asmodeus' closest friend the Firstborn Angel knew his madness would not relent, nor would the others in the Seat of the Firstborn allow their work to be undone. Asmodeus was not nearly as powerful as the Gods, and so he manipulated them rather than fight until the very end when he double crossed Thrayn who was under the assumption Asmodeus was on his side. Serving himself, and ultimately the greater balance of the Planes, he was instrumental in the dissolution of the Firstborn and the birth of the Abyss. Though he was punished for his betrayal, Asmodeus retained much of his power, and more importantly had gained further influence over this new world of Mortals. Tasked with overseeing the Abyssal corruption, Asmodeus was sent 'evil' souls to use as needed in this bloody war with the Demons. So long as the Abyss remains a threat, Asmodeus' place in the Planes was secure. He bid his time, for millennia building up powerful armies, commanders, generals and dukes in Baathos until Long Night fell and the Abyss and Limbo both spilled forth. Knowing the ambition of his underlings, Asmdoeus' knew they would seek his true form with the intention of destroying him and claiming his Throne. while the exact details of Asmodeus' and Mephistopheles confrontation during Long Night remain unknown, the results were felt throughout the Planes. Asmodeus' ascended, with a power to rival Gods and even the remaining Firstborn. Now Asmodeus spreads his influence throughout the Mortal world, as he speaks with Oros and Meldrus in the seat of the Firstborn.

Education

Asmodeus was trained by Thrayn during the Dawn Wars in the ways of combat. where and how to strike, to turn disadvantage into victory.

Employment

Asmodeus was 'forced' to act as the Watcher of the Abyss, to prevent the Demons taint from spreading.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Asmodeus' managed to rise to power, after being banished from the Seat of the Firstborn and stripped of many of his Angelic powers. He now exists as a God, a Firstborn God many would argue.

Failures & Embarrassments

Asmodeus' has had a number of attempts to claim power that ended badly for him, such as freeing Yheia's soul from imprisonment or corrupting but not claiming the soul of Jora Kampfrun.

Mental Trauma

Asmodeus has a very different view of the Planes, the destruction of trillions does not weigh on the Firstborn in the slightest, as they serve to tip the scales of power. Because Asmodeus' views of the world, he thinks he is the only one capable of keeping this delicate balance in check.

Intellectual Characteristics

Asmodeus' is a mastermind, capable of planning millennia in advance to cultivate any number of plots to fruition. From his fall from grace to his rise to Godhood, Asmodeus has relied on his cunning more than his power. Tasked with the unwinnable war against Demons, with forces that are constantly outnumbered Asmodeus has defended Baathos and the planes from Demonic invasion, only on rare occasion when Baathos is circumvented did any meaningful Demonic invasion occur in other planes.

Morality & Philosophy

Asmodeus believes that all life serves the balance of the planes, good evil, law and chaos must be kept carefully in check. Because others lack the constitution or the foresight to see this through Asmodeus is intent on rising to power to preserve this balance.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

To keep the balance between Good Evil Order and Chaos.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Asmodeus is heartless, cruel even, his goals of power are for the betterment of everyone in existence and they're fools to resist him. Despite this cruelty, Asmodeus isn't rude or impatient, rather the opposite. Any goal to power is worth the effort for the Master of Heresies.

Social

Social Aptitude

Asmodeus carefully picks every word, and is a master diplomat. Even Iribus and Belial who exist in a world of lies and secrets are careful to mind Asmodeus' words. he preferred to speak only when needed, to goad others to speak instead. When he's in a position of power however, he does have a tenancy to gloat, he's convinced his rise to power is for the best of the Planes and everyone in it.

Mannerisms

While speaking, he will sometimes look back towards his shadow as if listening to an unseen advisor, then chuckle.

Quotes & Catchphrases
"Existing before the concept of time grants one special insight to the Planes. It's all a circle, a great wheel of entropy and negentropy. Souls turn that wheel and set the circle in motion, without the souls of Mortals the wheel doesn't turn and the circle breaks.
