Iria

Azaria

Originally the only landmass in Iria, Azaria has been around for as long as the world has existed and has such has gone through more changes than many other places within the world. From the formation of The Scar to the formation of the islands to the west, Azaria has withstood many of the tragedies of the world. After the shadow corruption of the world, the elemental lords and the greater deities worked together to repair the land and contain the corruption in the only way they could. Because of these actions, most of the landmass of Azaria is lush fertile land. There are three locations in Iria that still suffer from the shadow corruption, two of those are considered part of Azaria. The Scar is the largest source of corruption in the world, though most of it is hidden below the surface of the lake and under Gador Island which seems to float on the crystalline water. The other is the small southern island of Sekezil where the shadow corruption is far more noticeable with wispy black shadows that cover the whole island. The Vy and Serin oversee managing the corruption contained in Sekezil Island, though members of the Keepers of the Light are often there to give assistance.

The Scar

Situated roughly in the center of Azaria is a large crystalline lake with a single island in the middle. Stretching across the lake from the west is an intricately carved golden bridge that connects the mainland to the island or Gador. The lake itself seems to be a never-ending pool of cerulean blue that bleeds into a deep inky black. The surface of the water seems both fluid-like and at the same time solid as if it were made of crystal, and the depths seem to stretch on forever. The Scar was created by the elemental lords of Water and Air, Emlyn and Zatara and in the languages of elemental beings and the Cas, it is known as Cursed Lake rather than the scar. The reason many of the gods and the elemental beings refer to the lake differently to many of the races is the knowledge of what lies below the water. During the war with Amadius the land was ripped apart, destroying matter and corrupting land as it formed The Scar.

Gador

Gador is a small, seemingly floating island sitting within The Scar. Tyren and Mayis created the landmass at the request of Olissa who believed Amadius could be contained and monitored from such a location. The land is regularly blessed and tended to by those with a proclivity towards the protection and cultivation of the land. Without intending it to be this way, Gador became something of a hot spot for travelers and diplomats of all kinds. As home to the City of Light and the Cas people, it is known as a large and open place for people of all kinds. Some come to see the crystal-like waters around the island, others hear stories of the formation of the island and wish to see it themselves, many simply come to see the golden city, a bastion against the darkness that few remember. The island itself always seems to have the sun shining down on it, even at night, the moon seems to shine brighter over the land.

The City of Light
The City of Light is the largest city in all of Iria and one of the most open. Large golden flecked, crystal-like marble walls extend around the city. Two circular walls of the same material make up the inner and outer walls of the city. The closer to the walls you get the more they give off this crystal-like appearance seeming almost translucent, yet if you try and look at it closer you cannot see anything through it. Most of the city is in the same whites, golds, and occasionally other pastel shades. The City of Light is the capital city for the Cas people and something of a cental hub for all the races of Iria. It is a neutral ground for all races, no matter what wars are happening at the time no fights continue in the city. It is also a good location for the adventures of the world with many people heading to the large city to get jobs and to give them out.

Starfall Island

The cold and seemingly desolate southern most island in the Linmah island chain, that, to many people, seems to have had the life drained from it. The island is always bathed in a blanket of eternal shadow. Even the light of the sun seems to do nothing against the shadowy darkness, however the light from the three moons of Iria are able to pierce through the shadow bathing the land in silvery light. For most creatures not native to the land most things seem to be muted or dulled versions of the colours they should be, those native to the area (Wan and Ali mostly) are more easily able to perceive the colours. Even in these muted tones it is obvious that the colours are darker here, as if the shadows themselves had tainted the colours. Rather than bright limes the leaves of the tress are muted olives, rather than cerulean blue seas they are deep midnight blues. The roof of the forest seems to hang over the whole island hiding it and shielding it from outsiders with very few obvious paths through the dense folliage. Littered around the small shrubs are glowing red berries, the only light source from the island itself.

Miz
Hidden deep in the forest and protected by walls constructed from the trees themselves is the Wan home town. Very few structures make up the city with small houses forming together into what looks like one or two large communal homes, a few fields with various native creatures held in them and the large intricately carved ritual table atop a small stone out cropping to the north of the small town. The buildings are simple, constructed only to form protection from the elements and the creatures that stalk the land at night, while the ritual alter is more carefully constructed and cared for. One lone house sits slightly to the west of the alter, just below the out cropping, this is the home to The First Priestess and The Prince of the Wan. Like the alter it is more intricately carved showing their position but still looks like it is constructed not for show but for purpose.
