Technology Level
This page aims to explain the common technology levels that most nations throughout the world can achieve, the most notable exception is Stisedo which has some of its outliers portrayed in Irae Engineering (WIP).
Metallurgy
Throughout the world the use of metals for weapons and armor is exceptionally common, in almost the entire world smelting, casting, and forging, are all well understood methods of creating objects. The nation who has the most adept technique in the creation of weapons and armor is Fire Spiritfolk Clan, the armor and armaments are crafted with such precision and technique that even a simple iron sword could have enough sharpness and durability to be mistaken for steel. However, the nation with the highest level metallurgy is Stisedo, as they possess metal foundries which are capable of producing casted metal at a far greater speed than other options such as a blast furnace (which is the most common method). In the middle between the Fire Spiritfolk Clan and Stisedo is Zaveron who are most well known for being able to produce extremely durable full plate, alongside an ensemble of greatswords and polearms.
A notable exception is those who live within the Fierce Deserts their level of metallurgy is at a significantly lower level than that of the rest of the world, only able to make crude iron equipment prone to breaking from just a few uses. However, they overcome this weakness by using instead of using iron or other metals, focusing on shaping the bones, carapace, and hide, of Desert Demons all across the Deserts, as their sharpness and durability is comparable to some of the strongest materials across the world.
Other notes :
- Most weapons and tools made from steel are made through damascus steel, however, armor and large tools are often made with crucible steel
- Anything made out of bronze is made using tin bronze.
- Unless stated otherwise most materials in Blacksmithing are able to be utilized by nations/smiths
Medicine
While the advancement of medicine is not the field which has been prioritized by most nations, it has progressed significantly in the last 200 years, due to consistent wars and the Cataclysm which brought about the Iraeidin. The reason for the progress depends on the nation, but regardless, most diseases are of little worry, and while can prove dangerous, the number that could still prove lethal after medicine is administered would be a few at best. While most nations are at a relatively similar level, the nation with the most advanced medicine is the Water Spiritfolk Clan, this is in part due to the The Branch which can heal practically any injury with extreme ease. However, the closest to them would be Stisedo, It is said that the city of Rovari has had an ironclad focus for the last few generations on hypnotic medicines that delve so deeply it is said some can even wipe every memory an person has ever had. However, Stisedo as a whole has been incorporating Irae energy into drugs and medical supplements alike, to further expand their research on its effects, both positive, and negative.
Overall while most natural diseases and poisons can be effectively cured in the current day, artificial poisons, or worse, magical ones, can still be horrendously lethal and impossible to cure.
Other notes :
- Anti-poisons for artificial poisons tend to exist, but often only sold by the same individuals who tend to make the poison, hence, people would have the most luck in the black market.
- The higher a Character's Vitality is, the more naturally resistant they are to poisons, thus reducing the need for any potential anti-poisons.
- In Stisedo the level of medicine given for treatment may depend on the status and wealth of the patient.
