Vangarmyr is often depicted as a part of nature, a big tree, a group of rocks or it all in one.History
Vangarmyr is regarded as the ultimate caretaker, a deity whose essence is interwoven with the health of Iquria itself. As the guardian of life and nature, he views the forests, rivers, and creatures as his children, tending to them with unwavering devotion. His ancient wisdom has shaped the moral and ecological foundations of the realm, and his presence is felt in the gentle rustle of leaves, the soothing sound of a river, and the renewal of life with each passing season.Vangarmyr’s pacifism is not a sign of weakness but a deliberate choice, rooted in his belief that true strength lies in restraint and understanding. Though he avoids conflict, his influence on the battlefield can be profound, often acting as a mediator or calming force. In rare moments when action becomes unavoidable, his resolve manifests in ways that protect and heal rather than destroy.
As one of the oldest deities, his origins is unknown even to this day. However, his story is inextricably tied to that of his brother, Predacor, whose corruption stands as a stark contrast to Vangarmyr's serene and life-affirming nature.
In the early days of Iquria, Vangarmyr and Predacor shared the sacred duty of creation. Together, they shaped the first forests, tended to the fertile lands, and fostered the flourishing of life. Yet, where Vangarmyr saw beauty in balance and peace, Predacor grew restless, seeking to twist life into more aggressive and chaotic forms. This divergence led Predacor to collaborate with Nicaladrier, the God of Elements, to create the first monsters—the elementals. While Vangarmyr viewed these creations as perversions of nature, Predacor reveled in the unpredictability and power of his monstrous progeny.
Their relationship deteriorated further during The Dark Age when Predacor sided with Téridax, the God of Death, and his forces of chaos. While Vangarmyr aligned himself with Solis, the Goddess of Light, to protect the mortal realm and preserve the sanctity of life, Predacor unleashed countless horrors upon the world, amplifying the destruction wrought by Téridax. The betrayal is believed to have cut deeply into Vangarmyr, who, despite his pacifistic nature, fought tirelessly to undo the damage caused by his brother’s monstrous creations.
When the Dark Age ended, and the forces of Téridax were defeated, Predacor was among those banished to the Nether Plane. Though Vangarmyr mourned his brother’s fall from grace, he accepted that Predacor’s exile was necessary to maintain balance. However, even in exile, Predacor's influence persists. When the barriers between realms weaken, his monstrous creations still seep into the mortal world, forcing Vangarmyr to remain vigilant in countering these disruptions.
This fraternal dichotomy between Vangarmyr and Predacor embodies the eternal struggle between creation as a force of order and growth versus chaos and destruction, further cementing Vangarmyr’s legacy as the ultimate caretaker of Iquria.
