Guild du Veau

The most docile of all the guilds, Veau has nearly no military presence of its own, and seems more than happy with keeping to its own business in Harcheford. Having devoted themselves to the pursuit of learning, the scholars of Veau seek out knowledge wherever it might be found, and bring it back to their library beneath the town, known as the Pense Catacomb. That is not to say these scholars only live in Harcheford, as many venture forth to Cinnapoint and other such places where new things might be uncovered. This is a fine distinction between Guild du Ehpeen and Veau: Ehpeen desires the artifacts themelves while Veau only wants to learn from what is found, and store that knowledge back home.
This devotion to learning doesn't remain seated in the events of the past however, they also push the edges of what can be. Wizards in the Pense Catacomb sequester themselves away to fiddle with the very edges of reality. Indeed, this is one of the reasons such a place was build underground, all the better to protect the people above when a careless mage summons a demon of the Abyss by accident.
Oddly, Veau keeps no military. Instead, the other guilds send people to protect Harcheford and the Catacomb, primarily pulled from Guild du Loup and its Lawbringers. This unique accommodation suits all involved, for allowing the stacks of the Catacomb to be plundered may very well spell the doom for all.
