Uldkai Daruvath
Geography
Unlike most of Ahuduir, Uldkai Daruvath is incredibly lush, possessing thick jungles, forests and dense marshlands to the south. These biomes are fed by frequent storms and rainfall from the Cisura Sea & Kurnnoth Ocean, leaving the entire region densely packed with life. Given that Uldkai Daruvath borders an ocean, a sea, contains three large lakes as well as the mouth of Ioral's longest river, as well as the fact that the entire region is mostly devoid of mountains, access to fresh and salt water is not difficult in the slightest.
History
Supposedly the place where the ancient Sylvan people first settled, and with the name of Uldkai Daruvath directly translating to Sylvan (Old Elf) Homeland, it is a place that, for the longest time, held the largest population of Elves in the world. Even during the Bloodplague the region was home to various hidden tribes of Triaxians and other Elven off-shoots, though it would truly gain its importance right after the Bloodplague, as the Kalurai Slave Nations rose rapidly, enslaving all those they could find, even each other. This would see Uldkai Daruvath's population explode, growing to millions in only a century or two, as each Salve State grew fat and rich off of the back of their vast hordes of Slaves.
It is here in Uldkai Daruvath where magical institutions are built once again, where the secrets of the arcane are uncovered, though of course these studies would be directed towards the needs of the Kalurai societies, focusing on how to bind slaves better, removing the need for rest and enhancing the physical attributes of the slaves. For centuries various research projects on these subjects would be conducted, consuming thousands of test subjects and ultimately subjecting hundreds of thousands more to horrific fates.
In 900 BE the Sun Elves, then enslaved Kalurai who were blessed by Telsin, rose up and cast off their shackles, beginning a near century-long struggle between the Telurai and Kalurai, which the Telurai would eventually win when they finally destroyed the last Slave State, Xallamor. This would see the birth of the Sun Empire/Empire of the Sun, which would use Uldkai Daruvath as their heartlands. For 724 years Uldkai Daruvath would serve as the heart of the Empire of the Sun, where it would see countless riches pour into its coffers from the various provinces, though eventually all good things come to an end. As the strength of the Central Government waned and local rulers become more and more powerful, fewer and fewer Imperial Lords saw any need for the Chamber of Lords, ultimately voting in 237 LS to dissolve the Empire.
For most of the Long Summer Uldkai Daruvath would see chaos engulf its cities, a mass immigration of Hobgoblins into its western lands and Orcs to its eastern lands, and a cultural breakdown of the Hinoari, spawning the Myrakel and Kalormyr. Warlords would rule the few remaining cities, turning their forces against each other in the eternal quest for more land, more money, more prestige, though this would also in turn spawn their downfall; the Samurai. These honour bound warriors would eliminate the Warlords and take the cities for themselves, turning their populations to more constructive endeavors, though wars would still occur. The Kalormyr Samurai would deviate from their Myrakel brothers, becoming infatuated with their code of Honour to the point where multiple wars would be declared over relatively minor infractions.
To this day the region remains as a collection of city-states, as conquests rarely last, leaving the entire region a shattered remnant of what it once was. Hope remains, however, as external threats have proven time and time again to unite coalitions to work in their best interest, and many large external threats remain.
