Session 27: A Godly Loan

General Summary

DATE: 11/07/241-13/07/241

• As people awake on the 12th and start their days, Grimoire returns to the College library to continue their research
• Lohren goes home, Bubba works out until they collapse from exhaustion
• Jarran questions Khennan about why he owes Manachan a favour, to which he receives a 'Go ask Manachan', Jarran also aids his Grandfather late the previous evening
• During Grimoire's morning research Scribe notices a figure moving through the stacks of the Restricted Section and tails them, noticing that they are taking a number of books that Grimoire had recently studied for information on the Inheritors
• Brief scuffle ensues as the figure attempts to flee though Ariadna manages to pin them on the ground
• A strange looking weak-demon blooded tiefling is revealed under the cloak and, after recognizing Grimoire and calling them 'Number 3' before correcting themselves, is allowed out of the lock to talk to Grimoire
• During this time Bubba is heading for the College to have a shower and Lohren is seeking Grimmie while Jarran talks a bit more with his Grandfather before heading to Manachan at the Diplomatic Suite
• Grimmie learns that the individual's name is Yohanan, that he is a Blade of Life and is seeking the Inheritors, and came to the College to seek out more knowledge on where to find them
• Grimmie decides to take Yohanan with them to meet Manachan, running into Lohren wandering the halls and Bubba in an argument with a Wytchguard about showers, which ends with a student casting Create Water above them, drenching the Tiefling in water, much to Bubba's pleasure
• On the journey to Manachan's place Yohanan reveals that he is a 'Batch-brother' to Grimmie, showing that their bodies are able to intertwine unnaturally
• Manachan reveals two possible courses of action that the party can follow; they can track down a divine aspect and use it to create a new Core to keep the Crescent King from dying, or they can investigate the arcane circle that Lohren viewed via vision, also divulge that the Inheritor's minds are encoded
• Manachan offers a divine aspect that they can use for a new core, though it is of Qhymos and they might want to get permission
• Lohren asks and gets a straight foreward 'You can but you need to return it when the other cores are returned to you'
• The party chooses the former and, in about twenty minutes after being teleported by Manachan to the city of Avethes, reach the remains of Vylfaen Elaris, extract the aspect and return to be picked up by Manachan
• Upon returning Grimmie and Khontu Yuest construct the Core while Bubba and Lohren paint and Jarran chats with Manachan (Khontu is also given the LOTUS upgrades and the Arcane Core blueprints)
• Grimmie hands over this new core to Manachan and the party awaits his return while talking to Yohanan, learning more about his Prayerblade
• Bubba and Lohren learn some about Rish'let from Weston Garcia, though Bubba struggles to translate the movements into their book
• Grimmie and co. visit their friends, where Yohanan recognizes Weeping Steve, later telling Grimmie that Steve is another Batch-brother of theirs, though he saw Steve die decades ago, and Steve does not seem to recognize Yohanan
• Jarran returns home and converses with his Grandfather
• Grimmie is also able to locate the Arcane circle, allow them to teleport with almost no failure chance
• Manachan meets with them again, where the party plans to hit the circle the next day, though they require a night's rest first
• The next day, early, the party teleports right on top of the Arcane Circle, where a battle ensues between a number of Inheritor Mages and Wytchguard and the Party
• Yohanan displays the might of the Prayerblade while Ariadna gets some revenge and Bubba erases a man from existence
• After the Battle Grimmie informs Manachan that they have the coordinates for the Demi-plane of the Inheritors, to which Manachan has stated that in a few days he will have a plan to deal with the Inheritors

Divine Deal: The party has (temporarily) removed the aspect of Qhymos from the remains of Vylfaen Elaris, in order to power an Arcane core to keep the Crescent King alive.
