Forge-General
Qualifications
Forge-Generals are selected only from the most experienced officers of the Sootguard, with those having served at all positions being favored over others.
Requirements
Forge-Generals must be citizens of Kharahals and have served a minimum time of 5 years in the Sootguard, and can be selected from Non-Commissioned Officers.
Appointment
While the Forge-General might derive their authority from the Custodian they are selected by peer review from their fellow Sootguard members as well as the Kharahal Quorum. Once selected and accepted the Forge-General is inducted in a public ceremony where they swear to protect and serve Kharahal and it's people above all.
Duties
The Forge-General commands the Battalions of Sootguard, authorizing deployments, commanding the Sootguard during wartime as well as dealing with the local bureaucracy.
Benefits
Forge-General's are paid a handsome sum for their service to Kharahal and are granted near unrestricted access to the entire city though, as they serve as both a military commander and policing commissioner, the specifics of these often determine the current diplomatic state of Kharahal.
Accoutrements & Equipment
Much like the NCO's of the Sootguard the Forge-General wears a suit of Guardsmen coveralls, worked with fine details and thick leather pauldrons, emblazoned with the crest of Kharhal (though with an adamantine bar).
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Should a Forge-General be deemed to be unfit for their position by the Quorum it becomes the duty of the Sootguard to see the Forge-General removed from office. Third Party organizations are kept at hand in the case of the Forge-General attempting to hold onto power.
