The National Directorate
The National Directorate is the scientific and environmental conscience of the Lavennic Parliament.
It operates not as a political body, but as a stabilizing force ensuring that human systems evolve in step with ecological ones. Composed of 150 Directors selected by their peers across Lavenna’s scientific and research communities, the Directorate exists to safeguard sustainability, scientific integrity, and long-term resilience. |
Core Mandates
Ecological Ordinances | Infrastructure Oversight | Committee Formation & Legislative Veto Power |
The Directorate can issue unilateral ordinances to to protect environmental stability and sustainability. These ordinances are immediately enforceable, but automatically expire after a fixed period unless renewed by the Communal Assembly. | No major infrastructure project proposed by the Communal Assembly can proceed without Directorate approval, ensuring long-term ecological feasibility. | The Directorate works jointly with the Communal Assembly to form parliamentary committees. It may veto passed legislation before it reaches the Chamber of Delegates, but only with a supermajority of Directors in agreement. |
