The Liberalists
The Liberalists generally advocate for bottom-up communalism, civic liberties, individual freedoms, ecologic restoration, local self-sufficiency, multiculturalism, and multilingualism. They began as the main opposition to the Federationists' calls for a unified Lavennic Federation, but have since recognised the value of being a unified nation, while still advocating for stronger local autonomy and interdependence.
One of their main objectives is to work towards gradually dissolving member republics into their constiuent local communes, which they see as a way to do away with 'arbitrary' political boundaries hindering local liberties. In general, they see Lavenna as more of a loose constellation of equal communes, only under a single banner for the purposes of common defense, the preservation of ecologic and democratic values, and peaceful cooperation.

Culture
The utmost tenant of the liberalists is that of the sanctity of the individual as a part of their most immediate commune, rather than in relation to the greater nation. Personal freedom of beliefs, ability, and opportunity are their most fundamental pursuits in policy, and as such support social programs and government initiatives to create opportunity both for individuals as well as for communes.
Public Agenda
The Liberalists are a broad, colloquial grouping of like-minded individuals, composed of a wide range of ideals, although generally they:
Are staunch advocates of personal freedoms and civil liberties, and while generally supportive of the communal economy, they believe in a more cooperative and liberal form of communal economics.
Believe in the importance of devolution, and oppose national homogenization. They believe that Lavenna should be much more of a loose constellation of equal communes, while still having universal communal services and larger scale cooperation ensured by the national government.
Oppose mandating Laveranto as a national language, seeking instead to foster broad intercultural understanding through an intensive state sponsored focus on language aqcuisition. In the words of Kaiessa Isoviya,
No child living in a nation as multicultural as Lavenna should ever only know just their mother tongue-- it should be equally indispensable to be multilingual as it is to be literate.
History
For years the Liberalists were the largest opposition group to the Federationists in Parliament, and as of 500 AGL they have a sizeable presence, with 135 seats in the Communal Assembly-- while only having a paltry 15 seats in the Chamber of Delegates. Additionally, the current First Councillor of Lavenna, Veiyana Isoviya (pictured to the right of the above image) is a Liberalist, and has been so far widely regarded as a successful and charismatic leader who has initiated massive progress towards ecological restoration and integration.
Former First Councillor Kelmar Harval, pictured in the centre of the above image), is also a Liberalist, being elected in 488 AGL. During his short premiership he expanded civil liberties, as well as created many reforms to grant local communes more power over their own affairs.
