Customs:
Climate:
The primary climate in Nobunaga is Temperate with many bushes and grasslands. Notably there are many shallow caves in Nobunaga.
- Guests in a home avoid rejecting any offer of food unless they are near bursting. Hosts are encouraged to perceive when guests are full.
- When entering a place of residence you must leave your weapons by the entrance. Residences have locked closets or small attended rooms for these weapons. People who attempt to rob these weapon rooms are executed by the city guard.
- Native Nobunagans, and nationalized citizens, let their hair grow to just below their shoulders. The women typically tie their hair in buns, while the men braid their hair into a ponytail.
-
Tieflings of any kind are forbidden from staying within Nobunaga. They may pass through, but they may not rest within Nobunagan lands. Most Nobunagan guards will arrest tieflings on sight in cities, but outside of the cities at worst guards will be verbally acerbic to you and try to intimidate you.Tieflings are welcome in the Theocracy and are reliably invited into private homes for respite if they are traveling and in need of shelter. The locals consider this good luck. Due to Nobunaga's deep friendship with his tiefling companion Arapione, there is a long standing tradition of the God Emperor having 1 or a group of tiefling bodyguards called Divine Horns.

Structure
The God-Emperor is the absolute leader. To administer the wishes of the god-emperor, he has appointed many Supervisors across the land. The Nobunagan government appoints Regional Supervisors (mayors and governors) to run the Civil Supervisors (city guards).
The overall structure is:
God-Emperor > Head Conduct Supervisor > Conduct Supervisors > Economy Supervisors > Regional Supervisors > Civil Supervisors > Border Supervisors > Life Supervisors > Maternity Supervisors.
God-Emperor > Head Conduct Supervisor > Conduct Supervisors > Economy Supervisors > Regional Supervisors > Civil Supervisors > Border Supervisors > Life Supervisors > Maternity Supervisors.
Culture
Nobunaga is a rigid and traditionalist society, but is the most efficient nation in the entire world. It was hit several times in the early days of the Infernal crusades and was nearly wiped out. But legend says that a powerful general took control of the area and was instrumental in helping the other races exterminate the infernal armies. This led to the founding of Nobunaga and its focus on battling the devils. Each citizen is required to serve in the national military for 4 years. This begins after their 16th birthday if they are a born citizen, or for 4 years immediately after they nationalize.
Children are expected to attend the national schools from the age of 10-16. This consists of physical and mental training (literacy, basic math, weapons...). Citizens who went through the Nobunaga school system standout in that they have excellent posture.
Roles in society are strictly bestowed upon the citizens from local government officials known as Life Supervisors. Citizens must not deviate from this given career except under direction from another government official or traumatic event.
The economy is planned by the government, so prices and salaries are all set by the Economy Supervisors.
This completely disciplined society formed over many years and many Infernal Crusades. This was the best way to combat the armies of the Nine Hells.
Public Agenda
Nobunaga's primary goal is to eradicate the devilish horde from the world. This has led to a policy of expansionism, particularly the rich mountains to the east in Hayasa-Azzi.
As part of this defensive crusade against the Nine Hells, Nobunaga has outlawed any tiefling from sleeping within the kingdom. The tieflings are considered spawns from the black depths of hell, and are typically arrested on sight by official Nobunaga soldiers or guards, and either executed or imprisoned for questioning indefinitely. Tieflings do not travel here by choice unless they have a plan.
Assets
- Advanced military doctrine and technology: The entire society has a militant thread through it all, everything is given to the betterment of the armed forces so that they may combat the forces of Hell.
- Surplus of manpower. Most of the citizens of Nobunaga spend the entire day working, so there is typically not enough work to go around. Regional Supervisors are allowed to rent out any excess workforce to foreign entities as long as the workers do not leave the region.
History
Nobunaga was founded in 2792 a few decades after the 5th crusade. The 5th crusade allowed several roving bands of devils deep to the south, causing terror throughout the region Nobunaga now encompasses.
The warrior known as Nobunaga was able to rally people to his banner and lead a sweeping counterattack against the roving devils, slaughtering any devil they found. This led to a general unification of the region. With great cunning and personal strength, as well as a long relationship with a red tiefling known as Arapione, Nobunaga was able to drive back the devils, fighting all the way to the Winter's Embers portal itself. But the fighting grew too intense and Nobunaga was isolated from his soldiers. Once the battle concluded and the devils were slaughtered, it took several hours of searching to locate Nobunaga. He was found upright leaning against a barricade with the remains of several demons at his feet, his narrow greatsword still in hand. Arapione lay there at his feet, a shattered shield and mace still in hand.
The human survivors were unified by his martyrdom and founded Nobunaga, forever memorializing Nobunaga's sacrifice and their eternal vigilance for more devilish incursions.
Demography and Population
The total nation population is 4 million souls.
The native population typically has straight black hair, olive skin, pointy noses, squinty eyes, angular features, naturally gaunt, long fingers, brown or black or blue or purple eyes.
Foreign Relations
- Hayasa-Azzi and Nobunaga had a brief border skirmish 2 weeks ago to the east of Sarush. There were only 7 casualties in total, but tensions on both sides are high, and both nations are preparing for war.
- Hycernia and Nobunaga have had a mostly pleasant long standing relationship for centuries. It looks like this will be disrupted with the brewing war given Hycernia's ongoing trade with Hayasa-Azzi.
- Nobunaga has yet to meaningfully interact with Marquesas.
Mythology & Lore
The warrior king Nobunaga ascended to godhood for his actions in repelling the hellish forces from the world. The now god Nobunaga told his people to found this great nation to ensure the safety of all the races of the Prime Material plane on Clipeium. Nobunaga then bestowed upon his lieutenants and most devoted followers with a portion of his grace and power. 13 people received the Blessing of Nobunaga, 7 men and 6 women. These 13 chosen became the nobility and royal bloodline of the Nobunaga country. From then on, only people with a proven claim to this blessed bloodline could claim the Nobunagan throne.
This bloodline is known as having the Blessed Blood. This blood provides the power to control the wind and alleged 'omnipresence' throughout Nobunaga.
Nobunaga's achievement of godhood is chronicled in the tale of Lord Seisenaru and the Divine Gate.
Cosmological Views
When Nobunaga ascended to the Heavens, he declared a new name for himself, that of Lord Seisenaru.
