House Vidal
A noble family with a royal lineage
The Vidals are not native to the Skylands of Merika. They settled in the Crescent Kingdom in the late sixth-century PCE after emigrating from the Pachuco lands of the Forbidden Zone. Using technology they brought from the Zone, Konrad Vidal and his brother Roderick purified the coastal lands of the crescent south and founded the city of Noirlan in the year 603.
House Vidal has since become one of the leading families of Noirlan. Along with House Chastain, the Vidals founded the Norland Commonwealth in 690 PCE when Konrad II (Vidal), the last Crescent King, abdicated his throne. Prior to this the Vidals controlled the last ruling dynasty of the old Crescent Kingdom for nearly 80 years after defeating King Leono of the Morvannon clan.
House Vidal remains an influential faction in Noirlan politics but their power is waning. Their current patriarch, Armand Vidal, is presently serving as Lord Baron of Noirlan's ruling Crescent Chamber. Armand lacks a legitimate patrilineal heir, however, and there is conflict among Vidal supporters regarding who is to be named the House successor. Whoever is so named will inherit the Vidals' considerable lands and business holdings throughout the Norland Commonwealth. The other voting houses of the Crescent Chamber are eager to see the House Vidal decline so that they may usurp the ancient wealth and honours of the Vidal legacy.

Oooh.. Some sort of introductionary article to each region (and heck, to the setting) could be nice. I really want to read about the Skylands, but a quick glance at the table of content I couldn't see anything about it. Or is it just a shorthand of some description? :)

"Skyland" was the name given to the geographic region of eastern North America by those who emerged to the surface world after taking refuge underground for generations after the Cataclysm. The region is now more commonly known by the name "Merika."
I'm sorry to say that the Skylands/Merika are woefully underwritten so far. Since the current action of my active tabletop campaign is taking place in the Zone, I've been dedicating all of my time to building out that part of my setting. So far most of the Merika articles I've published remain little more than stubs, unfortunately!
I look forward to seeing more stuff come out, then! :D
