Choir Roosts

A communal living space that is in common use by Choiric flocks.

Purpose / Function

A choir roost is almost solely used for the times that Choirics in a flock need to sleep, and thus are generally not overly large. A flock usually needs only one roost, although there are a few expanding flocks that require additional roosts to house those that need sleep.   Other species of demons occasionally build roosts inspired by Choiric ones as well, although there is a cultural sense to them that makes them significantly different from Choiric roosts.

Architecture

The traditional way of constructing a roost involves pale coloured stone that is carved away, constructing the base "frame" of the roost and the walls out of a single piece. The roost never expands from this initial build, as if Choiric flocks need for space they will just build another roost.   The roost is generally put under magic to make the building float and stay stationary in the air, although that is up to the opinion of the flock.   The inside of the roost is usually only two or three large rooms with plenty of large windows adorning most of the wall space, except for the designated sleeping room. The sleeping room only has large windows on one wall that also function as a landing place for the members of the flock. The sleeping room's floor space is mostly designated to a shallow pit in the floor that is filled with soft pillows, resembling a large nest where members of the flock can rest at any time. There are also beams across the room for angels who prefer to perch, and hammocks attached to the beams.   The leftover rooms are used as indoor gathering spaces and small item storage, as a Choiric angels' most important items will be hidden outside the flock.
