Sovereign Host

The Sovereign Host is one of two major religions in Vatru and Alderrath. They were also the motivating invasion force of the "second" Vatruvian invasion (often recognized as the first). They are effectively the same gods as those found in the Eberron Campaign.

History

The Host and the Silver Flame have been the two major religions of the Vatruvian continent for thousands of years. They have been uneasy neighbors and warring opponents alternately throughout their existence.   It was during one such war that the gods who were not part of the Host (or their less pleasant counterparts) or the Silver Flame fled from the Vatruvian continent to Omphalos to the south.   It was later that the Host's people attempted to reunify Omphalos with Vatru, sparking a huge war that left Nagmir, Sovereign of Chaos and Charisma, and Khizton, god of fire, dead and Kol Koddis broken and perverted into the god now known as the Devourer.   The Silver Flame and the Host largely split the continent in north and south, though there are pockets of either within both territories. Most major cities have representatives of both.

Priesthood

All Vassals worship the entirety of the Host as one, though they and the clerics who lead them may favor one god over the others. Clerics of the Host tend to wear white robes with blue and gold edging and the stylized H symbol of the Host.   The priesthood is led by a council of priests that resides in Vereves. These councilors are titled "High Consul." Each region is likewise led by council, these being titled "Consul" and churches in large enough cities have between two and nine leaders each referred to as Disciples. Clerics and acolytes of the church are referred to as Cohorts and followers are Vassals.
