Asten is the sun god who battles the forces of literal darkness and those who hide within- the secret keepers and corrupt.
Tenets of Faith
Asten's teachings are contained in "Illuminated Texts."
Worship
"The darkness is only temporary. The sun will rise again, and his Light will always burn within you."
"One day, the Light will extinguish the dark and we will be called to the Radiant Meadows where shadows cannot touch us."
"The Lord of Light is a powerful god with many domains, many purposes. Is it not possible that he might empower different people for different purposes? Perhaps your purpose is simply different from the others. I have seen people blossom under his watchful care, growing into a person worthy of his glory. When we see another with his symbol, we do not know their purpose, their struggle, or their distance along the path to their truth... only that he has seen something of value within them."
Priesthood
The head of the Church is referred to as the Beacon and is primarily found in Aston, at the temple there.
Lead clerics of a given temple are referred to as "Lightbearers." Members of the clergy tend to mimic his sun-crown through braids, tiaras, or helms.
Granted Divine Powers
His clerics tend towards the Light domain, though Life, Protection, and Freedom are also options.
