Oban
Oban is a mathematical savant in a world surrounded by people whose greatest mathematial achievement is counting to 100.
Her life is rigid and calculated. She cannot use cutlery other than her own or hang her coat on a rack other than the one she has assigned herself. She follows a strict routine every day, and changes to that can be devastating to her and those around her.
That is not to say she does not interact with those around her. Though she prefers solitude, she will interact with those assigned to protect and care for her, Nyii Faheba, as well as her siblings, Laga Vulin and Aber Lour. Most others, however, are simply of no interest to her.
She reacts with stronger emotion and connection to numbers than she does to the people around her.
Math is the language spoken by the The Primary Elements. To understand their language is to understand creation.Oban has a unique gift. She not only understands numbers in a way that would make a Truthsayer jealous, but she understands how to use them to manipulate the Ætheric Veil. She speaks of math as the "Language of Creation" and possesses an arcane ability that rivals any Archmage. Laga Vulin believes that she has the ability to call forth the Silver Winds of Da'At as easily as the Onyx Winds of Yesod. Luckily, she either does not know it yet or simply chooses not to.
