The Outlands
The Outlands is a vast territory situated in the east of Gehenna. From a very early time King Lucan quickly became exasperated with the dramatics of Lycan culture. So in order to remove himself from the constant problems battles for territory and dominance challenges gave him, Lucan gave this land to the Lycans to take care of. Under the rule of a Prime Alpha, The Outlands thrive as a haven for Lycans and their families.
Geography
The Outlands remain heavily forested and largely untouched by the pressures of greater population. Even the few cities included in it's borders respect the hilly, undulating land and are built to compliment rather than dominate.
There is one fresh water lake in the southern part of the territory, just above North Limbo Woods and another saltwater lake northeast of the first with a river leading out into the ocean. This river forks out into the hilly fields of The Outlands at numerous points.
Climate
Besides the cold, frosty climate of the Cloud Mountains in the southwest of the territory, most of The Outlands remains temperate with colder winters and warmer summers.
Fauna & Flora
Since Lycans are so close to their animal cousins of wolves, fauna of all types have a haven in The Outlands. It is by far the most hospitable place for animals to co-exist with demons in Gehenna. Many dangerous predators lurk in the many forested areas and the rocky hills.
History
When Lycans were first given the territory to populate, many pre-existing clans began battling each other for their own parcels of land. When more and more clans formed and tensions increased, wars inevitably followed. Entire clans were wiped out and many new, larger and stronger, ones were created. After many centuries, The Outlands finally settled into a chaotic kind of peace with about a dozen strong clans each claiming a small section of The Outlands.
