Gaias Maral

Gaias Maral is an ancient mausoleim located a few days travel from Uskar near the borders of the Wildshire Vale. Gaias Maral is thought to be occasionally haunted, and the place where the Wild Hunt emerges from, after it was seen disappearing in here again during its appearance heralding the War of Phragos. The mausoleum was already old when the foundations of Uskar were first placed. Originally dedicated to a now forgotten individual, it now is the final resting place of many of those that had fallen during the later stages of the War of Phragos. Moreover, after the Decree of Stone and Blood was signed at the end of the Uskarian Tributary War, some of the dead were interred in the same mausoleum.

Layout

The outside of Gaias Maral is a large, circular tower made from white granite, crowned with a statue of the Twin Gods of Life and Death, Dallan and Nallad mourning the dead. Despite the size of the tower, most of the mausoleum is actually found underground, where a large network of tunnels and chambers give space to house the interred. Because of this, the more recent bodies have to be buried deeper inside the ruins in newly constructed tunnels. A large gate with a small stone pillar in front of it gives access to those that wish to enter.

Recent events

With theUskarian Tributary War  still fresh in mind, Uskar and Merridan continue to struggle with recuperation after the war. The dead interred at Gaias Maral, and the remains on the now desolate battlefields have not found their rest. Their bones still move, and many trading caravans are scared from even getting near the road to Gaias Maral, afraid of being attacked by the undead. The few that are brave enough with braving the wandering dead spot a lone horseman on a pale horse near the mausoleum.
