The Verdant Hand
The Verdant Hand is a sort of grassroots society of individuals who are concerned with nature, mainly druids. They operate by delivering messages from member to member.
Notable members of the Verdant Hand include Adam Firstman and Waywocket the Wicked (until she was kicked out).
Structure
The Verdant Hand has two separate heirarchies within it: one for druids and one for non-druids.
For Druids, there are seven ranks (from lowest to highest): Initiate, Dreamer, Acolyte, Shifter, Archdruid, Elder Druid, and Grand Druid. There is only ever one Grand Druid at a time, and they control the whole organization.
For non-druids, there are six ranks. These ranks are roughly equivalent in status to the Druid ranks of the same level, except they have no equivalent to the Great Druid. From lowest to highest, the ranks are Wanderer, Scout, Preserver, Keeper, Sentinel, and Warden.
Non-Druids include rangers, scouts, ancients paladins, fey warlocks, clerics of nature gods, barbarians, forest gnomes, wood elves, and moon elves. Recently they have also begun recruiting some goblinoids, though they are still very much a minority. Basically non-druids could include anybody who is concerned with nature but isn't a Druid.
Assets
Every initiated member of the Verdant Hand is given a scroll with their symbol on it, a green cape with the symbol in gold, and a weapon of their choice. The scrolls are used to signal one another silently.
History
In 70 3E, Adam Firstman had a vision about the current Great Druid having some sort of nefarious purpose. After he and The Chosen Nine destroyed Caldera, he traveled to the Palm of the Verdant Hand and challenged the Great Druid. He won the fight and became the new Great Druid.
