Inner Planes

The Inner Planes are the primal realms that embody the fundamental elements of the universe: Fire, Earth, Water, Air, as well as the energies of positive and negative matter. These planes form the core of the multiverse and are where the basic forces of creation and destruction are most concentrated. The Elemental Planes—Plane of Fire, Plane of Earth, Plane of Water, and Plane of Air—each represent their respective elements in their purest forms, while the Positive and Negative Energy Planes govern the forces of life and death. The Inner Planes are places of immense power, but they are also chaotic and dangerous, with harsh environments that reflect the raw energy of their elements. These realms are the birthplace of many elemental creatures and are essential to the ongoing cycles of creation and destruction that shape the multiverse.

Geography

The Elemental Planes are the raw, primal realms that embody the fundamental forces of nature: Plane of Fire, Plane of Earth, Plane of Water, and Plane of Air. These planes are the very essence of their respective elements, and each one is a chaotic, often hostile environment where the element reigns supreme. The planes exist as separate but interconnected worlds, with each one being home to elemental creatures, spirits, and powerful forces that shape the cosmos. While they can be inhospitable, they also hold immense power and magic, and travelers who venture there can harness the raw energy of the elements themselves.   The Feywild and Shadowfell are parallel worlds to the Prime Material Plane, existing as reflections of reality but with their own distinct characteristics. The Feywild is a realm of vibrant, magical energy, a mirror of nature infused with beauty, whimsy, and primal magic. It is home to the fey, including elves, sprites, and archfey, and is a place where time and space can behave unpredictably. In contrast, the Shadowfell is a dark, desolate echo of the Prime Material Plane, where the atmosphere is heavy with sorrow and decay. It is inhabited by creatures of shadow and despair, such as shadow demons and wraiths, and is a place of gloom and melancholy, where the boundaries between life and death are often blurred.
