Zed

Zed is the star at the center of Eastspace. Its name is derived from Zedrena, the Acovian Goddess of the Sun. As the primary source of light and heat for Eastspace, Zed is revered by various cultures as a life-giver.

Geography

Zed is a massive sphere of superheated plasma, primarily composed of hydrogen (about 74%) and helium (about 24%), with trace amounts of heavier elements like oxygen, carbon, and iron. Its surface, known as the photosphere, burns at approximately 5,500°C, while the core reaches temperatures upwards of 15 million°C, where nuclear fusion converts hydrogen into helium.
