Illon Primer

Welcome to the World of Illon! This page is intended to introduce you to the world and point you in the direction of any information you might be interested in!   Illon has multiple moons. If your campaign is prior to 70 3E, there are three moons, Oblivia, Ladassa, and Caldera. In 70 3E, Caldera was destroyed by The Chosen Nine, leaving the Belt of Caldera around Illon. This belt is visible from Illon's surface, just hovering over the equator.

Continents

Eagremond is the default campaign setting of Illon, but it also has several other continents. Most of the other continents follow the social cues of Eagremond.   Omnios is the largest, a wartorn continent with a long and bloody history.   Sumasi is a resource rich land in the southern hemisphere.   Aegoa is a strange and exotic small continent to the south, inhabited by dinosaurs that have migrated from nearby Jurassia.   Jotai is a series of islands with their own distinct cultures.   There are many underwater areas, but the largest and most famous is Atlantis.

Calendar

Illon has thirteen months of 28 days, following the moon cycles of Oblivia. Each month is then split into four even weeks of 7 days. For more, see Calendar.

The Eras of Illon

Years in Illon are expressed by a number followed by the Era (for example 70 3E being the 70th year of the Third Era). The default time period for Illon is the Third Era.   Everything before the arrival of the Elves was known as the Mythic Era. The arrival of the Elves began the First Era, which ended with the death of the beloved Good King Ulmond. The Second Era was a dark fantasy dystopia ruled by the Evil Overlord.   The Fourth Era was an age of progress, which changed drastically to the steampunk dystopia of the Fifth Era. The Sixth Era was the modern age of Illon, ending with the Droid Wars at the beginning of the Seventh Era.   The Eighth Era began with the defeat of the Robot overlords. The people of Illon started to explore the stars as the Eastspace Empire. The Ninth Era began with the invention of Faster-Than-Light travel.   The Tenth Era was a cyberpunk utopia, which crashed and burned for the apocalyptic Eleventh Era. Once all civilization was forgotten, something resembling the First Era rose in the Twelfth Era.   The Thirteenth Era was the end of Illon.

Races

Basically all D&D races have a place in Illon. Additionally, in Illon, discrimination based on skin tone is unheard of. People think of races in terms of human, elf, etc. not in skin tone.   For Humans, there are many different human ethnic groups including Lonarians, Aranians, Azicans, Nouhimiyans, Jotainese, Aegoans, Hillfolk of the Southern Hills, and the various Sumasi tribes.   The Elves are split into groups based on which portal they took from the Feywild. The High Elves rule over the other Elves from their city of Ishamel. The other types of Elves elect representatives to the Elvish Senate. Surrounding Ishamel is the Elvish Woods and the Wood Elves, which are within the borders of Eastvale.   The Dwarves of Illon are based on a progression up out from the Underdark. The Duergar are the original dwarves. Those who stayed just below the surface became the Mountain Dwarves and those who ventured out became the Hill Dwarves. There are also those who ventured out into space to the Durastarn System and became the Space Dwarves. The Duergar consider these an abomination.

Famous Folks

There are a few famous people you might expect to run into in Illon. A few of them include these:   Zibberty Bumblebrim was the Greatest Wizard and Planeswalker ever born on Illon.   Queen Belladonna was a famous tyrant who ruled over Eastvale.

Gods

The main pantheon of Illon is the Acovian Pantheon. In later Eras, the pantheons of Illon sort of combined into the Illonian Pantheon.   The major mother goddess and supposed creator of Illon was Illona.   Other pantheons include the Aranian Pantheon, the Oburan Pantheon, the Elvish Elezhíri, the Dwarvish Forgelords, the Gods of Omnios, and the Aegoan Pantheon.   After his death, many gnomes worshipped Dimblewimble Bellowbreach as God of Invention.
