Genasi

The Genasi are a race that were created by Primordials as guardians and foot soldiers in the war against The Powers. A force designed to combat the hordes of Dragons and Elfs that were mustered against them. After their defeat, the Primordials were sealed away, and the remaining Genasi executed.   After their execution, once reborn, the Powers tricked the Genasi in believing their purpose was to be wardens to the Primordials, to watch and guard their prisons for all eternity. This became known to those who were to discover this knowledge as The Great Lie, although few Genasi know anything about this.   Powerfully built, Genasi often show a certain amount of their elemental nature, tinged a particular colour, with sharp angular features. Often covered with protective plates, their skin is like rough sand, their blood, a cool stream of water; their elemental ties are obvious and worked into their appearances. Genasi have no reproductive organs and have little to no sex drive.   Genasi have no reproductive organs. Upon death Genasi cascade down to their primal essence which returns to the nearest Place of Power to coalesce for a time before being reborn.   The Genasi do not recall anything from their previous lives, but retain their Ikagi; their life purpose. When they reach their Convergence, they are reborn once more at the heart of their Place of Power to live again.   While returning to their stream, their essence is vunerable to capture, and is often used to create Spellforged Golems which the Genasi consider an abomination. Genasi who fall in battle are bottled by their brethren and returned to their stream in order to prevent this from happening.   Although they understand the concept of lying, Genasi struggle to do so themselves, finding it difficult to comprehend the reasoning why.   Genasi are found in a Place of Power, either stemming from the Sandy nomadic clan from the Glass Ocean, the Aggressive frozen clan born from the Frigden, the molten lava of Hellfire Gorge, the reclusive swamps of the Boreal Shelf, the leafy shadows of the Helix Tree or, a survivor of the once cloudy Waning Rift   Genasi armour and weapons are intricately made and a great deal is often made about returning their equipment through previous incarnations, detailing their various histories and soul-stories; a rather unique way of navigating around the laws around reading and writing. Some work as traders, or live abroad, seeking information that pertains to their destinies.   Although Genasi do not eat, they need to consume energy from any primordial organic life including fungi or Spellstone. This means that they can draw power from other creatures by eating them, but the transferal is considerably lower.

Naming Traditions

Each Genasi is named after their Ikagi and they spend their life looking for or attempting to fufill this purpose and several Genasi watch over the places where Genasi are reborn to record and remind them of their purpose. Names like "It Who Tends to Beasts," or "That Which Hunts" are examples of this.
