Wat Daham
Sent by another to do their bidding, Wat detests magic. Coming together for different reasons, but the same desire, he was given a mysterious device. Not told the true nature nor extent of its power, Wat was merely told to travel to Somerston Key, and if magic started to return, to release this device upon the land. Only forwarned that it would corrupt the island, he assumed that due to their mutual desire, it would erradicate magic from the area.
Deploying the device a decade after the rebellion, he integrated himself into Somerston Key as a dockworker. Marrying a local, having a family, and becoming a valued member of society, few ever would suspect he carried such dark desires. Staying to ensure magic never returned, he has remained a loyal warrior to his oath.
Ten years after the weapon was deployed, corruption started to take hold on the island. It was then that Wat realized that the common desire he thought was shared was incorrect. He wanted magic gone, and while this device took care of that easily, it also destroyed the nature, livelihoods, and people. It corrupted more than just the magic.
