Po'oraat

Background

God of Vigilantism and Freedom, Po'oraat is the third eldest of The Nine Divines. He was created in the hopes that The Fallen Ones would lose their power & influence over the mortals of the universe; and that they may never truly be held captive by the claws of the cold & unforgiving darkness.

Po'oraat's influence over Idoria has always been stoking the hearts of those in captivity or enslavement to fight against their captors. His power over the minds of mortals has kickstarted countless civil wars, independence movements, and rights campaigns. To him, one is not truly free until they can be themselves without torment, ridicule, or persecution.

His Worship

Followers of Po'oraat worship him by fighting against captivity, enslavement, and predatory contracts as well as by fighting for individuals' rights & freedoms.

Along with fighting for freedoms & independence, followers of Po'oraat are often seen as nomads or vagrants; traveling from place to place and rarely settling down permanently. Even those that settle find it difficult to suppress their wanderlust and desire to roam free.

Temples

Although a rarity to find, temples dedicated to Po'oraat are less-so buildings and more-so places. Open fields, hilltops, rolling plains, and medows are the most common places one can find such hallowed ground.

What sets apart any old field from a temple of Po'oraat, however, is his shrine. While one can worship anywhere they feel free, it is not considered a "temple" unless his shrine is present. Usually accompanying it are Priests who tend to the holy grounds; keeping it tidy, administering repairs, giving blessings, etc... Occasionally one can find benches, chairs, and tables; though these are uncommon.

Shrines

Markers of hallowed ground and places to give sacrifice & tithing, shrines of Po'oraat are scattered across the continents in open areas or places where it is easy to enter & exit. A typical shrine consists of a podium wrapped in golden leaves.

At these podiums vagrants and nomads leave small sacrifices & tithes; typically a small handful of coins or some dried fruit or meat, something that means something to the offerer and is something they may need without being a burdening amount to offer. These tithes and sacrifices often go to the priests tending the grounds or to anyone that is in dire need.

Symbol

Po'oraat's symbol is most commonly depicted as a golden leaf on a pendant. While it isn't much on its own, just about everyone will allow passage to those who show it at a blockade or border as msot people tend to understand its meaning and why the person showing it is trying to pass through.

Although which leaf differs by region, most decide to use either a maple leaf or an oak leaf when making or commissioning a symbol of Po'oraat.

Po'oraat's symbol is a golden pendant in the shape of a leaf.
