The Blue Rose
The Blue Rose is the town guard for the Free City of Foxdale. Officially, it answers directly to the High Council of Foxdale alone, but in practice, the high ranking members of the Council Guilds have the ability to give order to them without council approval.
Historically, this force was the House Guards of the Fox family, who rules Foxdale for hundreds of years. When the Foxes sold their claim to the city in disgrace, the council let them keep their men and employed them as the town guard. This was mostly done to keep the Fox family loyalist happy with the new arrangement.
"Lord" Quarion Fox, the current leader of the Rose, ensures to only employ men and women whose families have long ties to Foxdale. He is ever paranoid of the greed he sees from the guilds that run the city but has no desire to challenge them himself.
Structure
At the top of the organization is the Commander, a position currently held by Quarion Fox. Below the commander are six captains, each of whom is in charge of one of the five city districts and the city walls and is in command of three hundred guards apiece.
Public Agenda
The Blue Rose is tasked with upholding Guild Law within the city. Usually this means ensuring violence doesn't break out in the street, checking the status of individuals' guild papers, and either jailing violators, or removing them from the city. They also take up the role of checking every visitor into the city and manning the walls in case of an attack.
History
The Blue Rose gets their name from the symbol that appears on their tabbards and shields, a blue rose on a green field. This symbol was taken from the Fox family in an attempt by Quarion's grandfather, Gavyn, to remind people they still had power in the city.
