Hive Wolf

An undisputed apex predator of the cool plateaus of Brunivard, not because of size, which is substantial, but because of their unparalleled cooperation with each other. Hive Wolves are packs of large canids that share a consciousness across all the members of the pack. In fact, the pack is the individual, maintaining identity and memory across generations of bodies. There are hive wolf packs that can remember events from centuries ago, with the cunning and hunting skill to match.
Some packs have chosen to live on giant steadings, even helping guard the steading from opportunistic predators like the Ferric Fox in exchange for food and shelter. Not all hive wolves are willing to trade the wild for the farm, and there are still plenty of packs in the wild.
