Voz

The Flying Island

While technically a place, Voz is better known for the eternal disappearances of all those who arrive there. Due to what people assume is a tendency of Ballad (Ballad) and Vex (link when done) to leave no survivors, it's said that Voz is the land of certain death. Your chances are better to leave the Thunderstruck Wasteland (Thunderstruck Wasteland) alive than it is to leave Voz. As a result, the people who generally travel up there have difficult lives and wish to escape them forever.

Due to the amount of people who have arrived in Voz in the past, a net has been set up in the place where everyone was found in an attempt to prevent serious injury. It works almost every time, the only exceptions being those who come up when Voz has fallen or is falling. After all, a floating island increasing or decreasing in height doesn't make for the most stable landing.

No matter where you land, Vex, her trusty Golem at her side, will greet you. If you're unconscious, Golem will carry you to Vex's office. If you're concious, Vex will try her best to calm you as she leads you to her office. Either way, as soon as you breathe on that island, unless you somehow have superhuman intelligence, your memories of your time off of the island will be erased. You'll be told how awful your previous life was and that your memories were erased so that you'd be safe from pain and suffering forever.

Since the choir started, a mysterious magic surrounds the island, halting the aging process. No one ages beyond the age they please, and, if they truly wish, they can reverse their body's age down to the very second they choose. No one knows how it works or why it only began when the choir did, but the one thing they do know is that it's worked for centuries and it affects everyone, Fairae, God, and Golem.

The choir began when a plainly-dressed elven girl named Winter (link when done) entered the forest by Voz where a young Vex was playing. Winter stumbled into Vex by chance, and, despite a wordless struggle, Vex dragged Winter up the stairs to Voz. Over a hundred years or so, and the girls had long become great friends. Vex had someone her age to play with, and Winter didn't have anyone hovering over her shoulder.

One day, a nameless kid ran up to Voz, trying to escape from Death's Hunters. They weren't death, and they simply wanted to live. After that, many troubled people came to Voz, and most of them had some trauma that was irreperable with anything other than a mind wipe. After much consideration, fearing that their pasts would come and find them, the stairs to Voz were destroyed by Ballad, and the current system of Voz was adapted.

No one ever left. They never wanted to and never would. After all, Voz was safe. It was the only safe place in the world. It was free of major disagreements and war. There was so little sickness that the doctors barely worked. It will always be perfect.

Structure

Voz is split into three sections by gender. The male section is headed by the god of wind and song, Ballad, the female section is headed by the Fairae, Vex, and the nonbianary or otherwise non-gender-conforming section is headed by an agender person who prefers to stay nameless. These sections come together every few months and every twelve years to practice songs together and see how every different voice in all three groups interact together. Ballad and Vex are the faces of Voz, and, prefering to keep a low profile, the nameless leader is barely known about, even within the choir.

Culture

The choir sings every Monday through Saturday. Their voices are empathized and their individual accents are encouraged to shine through. The world under Voz, however, is said to be a land of boundless chaos and turmoil. Anyone who arrives on Voz needs to have their memories erased so they can live in peace. The songs of Voz are believed to bring peace to the world below, even if just momentarily.

Public Agenda

They just want everyone to be happy and at peace. They believe that the power of a million voices singing upon the world in perfect harmony can defeat all evil.

History

Voz has existed since the beginning of the world, but the choir only began after the Scholar, Winter, arrived at Voz and detailed her life to Vex, inspiring her to create the choir, a safe place to try and stop evil while not having your mind tainted by the evil that already exists.

Demography and Population

Voz has a few thousand people, each split into one of the three groups depending on how they identify.

Territories

Voz is the main and only land where the choir reigns over. It's a floating island that takes a lot of bravery to venture into.

Military

There is no military. It's not necesary.

Technological Level

Voz, despite being in a modern world and seeming modern externally, doesn't have any plue technology, only lightbulbs and enough electricity to power those.

Religion

Choir members are allowed to primarily believe in whichever god they please or none at all, but most tend to gravitate to Ballad, even worshipping Vex along with him. They are still, however, seen with emotion and humanity.

Agriculture & Industry

No one actually knows how the kitchen and dining area is always fully stocked or how anything on Voz actually gets there.

Education

Whatever eduction they came up with, they have. Others can teach them if they want to.

Infrastructure

The island of Voz appears very rural, with quaint forests, gentle rivers, and clear skies. The only thing that makes it look inhabited by people is the small quartz building that somehow becomes a seemingly limitless building filled with dorms, giant mess halls, and huge choir rooms. It's extremely sanitary and quite lovely.

Divine Origins

Voz was always there, but the choir began long after when the Scholar arrived in Voz and shared her past with Vex.

Tenets of Faith

The hope for peace is essential, and one must do everything possible to ensure it.

Ethics

Anything that is done to deliberately harm another is a horrid act.

Worship

Every song sung is proof to the commitment to peace and happiness.

Currency
There is no need for currency, so there is none. In addition, money is believed to be one of the roots of evil, so it is discarded and heavily criticised.
Legislative Body
Ballad will create laws if needed, but, due to the confirmity and kindness of the choir, it's unnecesary. Members of the Choir, however, are encouraged to speak up if they feel uncomfortable in any way.
Judicial Body
If there were to be any laws created, Vex would be the one to annouce them. She's already the one who makes any necesary announcements.
Executive Body
Since there are no laws, there would be no one in this position. If any were created, however, the third leader would quietly enforce them from the shadows.
