Bloodless Meadows
Long ago, before the age of the Scourge the Sun Kissed Hills was the reigning region of the Howllands, a fruitful and beautiful expanse of rolling hills and wind-swept meadows and plains that stretched from the walls of The Teeth to the western edge of the Sunless Mountains. But in the time since the age of the Scourge the sun has gone, blotted out by great engines of strife and misery from a world alien to the one that once was, great towers of stone and brick climb into the sky spewing poisonous clouds into the air that choke the very life from those below them.
Geography
The Sun Kissed Hills are a lush and beautiful mesh of rolling grass lands and large meadow brooks that span from the foot hills of the scarlet mountains to the shores of the sea of clouds. The hills are anointed by three rivers The Jade Tide, The Scarlet Stream, and The River of Life. These three rivers flow into the Endless Sea which connects Sunless pole to the Sun Kissed Pole. The Hills and Meadows are adorned with countless trees and flowers whilst quite farms blanket the landscape with patches of tilled soil. The Sun Kissed Hills get its name from the rays of sunlight that show on it almost all year round even at night there is a faint trace of sunlight that shines on the crest of the hill. It is a quite place, there is no war here, this land provides food and ingredients to all the lands around it and is a vital part to the survival of all if it were to be destroyed by war then all would suffer winner or loser.
Fauna & Flora
The red willows and cherry trees of the upper hills leave the lands dotted with hints of red and pink leaves among the tall grasses and meadows of the hills. The great oaks of the distant cloud shores paint the sunny horizon with glimmers of orange and green leaves. The fertile soil and countless farms of the hills provide an abundance of fruits, vegetables, and grains for all of the Howllands. The glimmering lilies and the sun dance posies are both beautiful and useful to both travelers and traders. These lands are also home to a few species of deer and bear. The sunlit stag is a gorgeous and magical species of deer that lives off of the fruit of the cherry trees and water from the Scarlet River which leads some to believe that the deer hold magical properties. The Evening Bear is a lazy and docile species of bear that lives off of the sunlit deer and the sap from the cloud oaks. The Star Flies or Ground Stars as the locals like to call them appear at night when the sunlight peaks atop the hills, and litter the ground with their light, in the day they hide as if bees on the gleaming lilies to wait their time to dance with the dwindling light from the sun.
Natural Resources
The fruits, vegetables, and grains from the soil of the hills are said to be almost magic in their flavor an ability to fill the stomach of any creature. The sap from the cloud oaks is a very common ingredient in most flight potions. The leaves from the cherry trees are used to make the most exquisite tea and even pipe essence. The pelts of both the Sunlit Stag and the Evening Bear are a good tool in making evil warding or resistant clothing.
