Watcher
Why does the Watcher never do anything normal? Even taking a picture he has to stand in the weirdest corner of Drikinus's holding base on Earth.
The humourless handler and mentor of Drikinus. He has no name so Drikinus calls him the Watcher (but not to his face).
The Watcher's job is to make sure the boy studies hard and drinks his liquid and food mush which consists of secret ingredients supposedly essential for his health. Unfortunately, it tastes horrific and the only way Drikinus can finish it in one go is to use positive imagery, requiring the help of his Pink Floyd poster.
Drikinus believes the Watcher has mind-reading abilities, which forces the boy to keep his darkest thoughts hidden.
Clumsy clogs
The Watcher has helpers that wear all-in-one tight black PVC costumes. The boy calls them Pinball Men for their impressive ability to bump into everything as they enter and exit his room—no doubt because of the ridiculous massive headpieces they wear. They also all seem out of shape with rotund physiques that mirror their matt black helmets. Their arms have a unique circular logo that Drikinus has yet to work out the meaning. The pinball men seem harmless, so the boy has learned to ignore them as they fumble in and out of his room.Food for Thought:
If Drikinus doesn't suck up all the muck the Watcher finds various ways to punish the boy.The Magic of Books
Recently the Watcher has introduced Drikinus to a Lifter book that holds the memories of the Bladestar mask.
