Head Director Meleak Hakim (a.k.a. Second Coming of Solomon or the World's Second Greatest Magi)

Head Director of the African branch of Vigilant and occasional guest professor at the Arcane Institute. According to files he is often described to be the most stubborn of the Directors as he is prone to arguments with how to deal with the major problems of the paranormal world. Such as how opertives should handle cover ups, laws pretaining to modern magi, and assualt missions. They are also stated to specialize in the study of spirits, souls, and the creation of contracts to control said spirits in order to perform task for him.

Physical Description

Special abilities

• Spirit Entrapment: He does know many spells or tools design to ensnare spirits, such as his seals and lamps that were once owned by the Queen of Sheeba.
• Spiritual Contracts: He can create new contracts and deals with spirits where in exchange for their services, life force, body parts, or mundane items he would be able to use their powers and knowledge. Deals with lower tier spirits rarely ask for a huge cost, but in the case of stronger spirits they tend to ask for more dangerous offerings. To bypass this he can force the spirit into submission in order to force a contract with more lenient terms, but tends to avoid these methods as this can create bad relations with said spirit.
• Aethereal Detection: Thanks to his elven blood and lineage of Magi scholars has made his body and soul sensitive to aether particles and radiation, allowing him to detect spirit signatures no matter how faint.
• Elemental Mastery: He was recorded to have utilize existing elements such as earth, air, and fire to a limited extent so that he may not rely heavily on the usage of his spirits.

Specialized Equipment

• Seal of Solomon: A physical grimoire filled with several pages of different contracts and seals made with the several spirits that his family have made contact with over the generations. Even including the 72 contracts that were made with King Solomon thousands of years ago, though many of them are no longer usable due to lack of authority over them.

Records indicate that in the land of Ethiopia lies a family of Magi who pride themselves in being experts in the study aethereal body and the nature of spirits. They claim to posses such knowledge as they were the descendants of the ancient rulers from biblical lore King Solomon and Queen of Sheba. According to text Solomon was the son of King David and was a man favored by god thanks to his humility and wisdom. Depending on the version of his life story he was described to have used his powers and gifts given to him by the divine to control many different spirits in order to construct temples of worship for god and bring order to the chaotic landscape. However, as the king began to dip his toes into knowledge retaining to outside gods and cultures many of his closest followers and allies began to turn on him and his family. Eventually his kingdom came crumbling apart and his line seemingly died out, however this wasn't truly the case. His knowledge and legacy lives on through his descendants through the line of the Queen of Sheba. Supposedly Solomon had a form of clairvoyance that allowed him to see the inevitable fall hence being the reason he gave his belongings to his most respected lover, but it's not made clear within the files how true this statement is. Regardless the Solomon line lived on in Ethiopia watching his sacred treasures and secrets, while leaving leadership for the people who were truly born there. They resided in a private estate in the most isolated parts of the country more focused in following their ancestors example in pursuing knowledge, via obtaining more relics and studying magic spells from the past. Though this isn't to say they didn't intervene in greater conflicts as their are some rumors pretaining to the area that led many investigators to speculate that they may have assisted in the prevention of the many colonization plots against Ethiopia.
Anyways back on topic, the family main driving force was to obtain knowledge in hopes that in doing so they can create world run by open minded and knowledgeable people. This goal has led to many deals and alliances to be formed between the paranormal creatures that flocked to Africa, and evventually adding elven blood into their line ensure that their descendant would live longer lives and better pass on information. Cut to some time in the 18th century one of the latest in the family line, Meleak was born and it didn't take him long to start his studies as an exceptional magi, though its worth noting that his recounting of his early years describes this time of his life as rather edious at best. Though he had much power he couldn't really use it due to his families wish for isolation, with the only acceptable time he can use it was when he can act as an instructor for those who entered their lands.
It was during this period of time he ended up meeting a young Roman Ecklar who arrived at his estate in order to access their knowledge and techniques. For most of Roman's time with the family thintinal e two "young" magi would constantly bicker with one another over the pettiest of squabbles as the two's polarizing views oon the usuage of magic. Meleak aligning with his with families belief of keeping magic repressed to prevent chaos despite his doubts, while Roman wanted to use it to help the world as he sees it heading towards ruin if measures aren't taken. Over time though the two would slowly gain some respect for each other when Roman showcase his solid understanding over all of his lessons and later even aided in fighting back against groups of witches that attempted to raid Solomon's treasures. Meleak would learn that Roman's philosphy was born from his families desire to help those without power and that if he coud create a world without ignorance than perhaps his family would still contiue their dreams and Meleak's wouldn't need to hide. Eventually though this time of their lives would come to an end as conflicts began to occur in the west between the United States and the paranormal territories, threatening to throw the current world of man out of balance if nothing was done about it. Roman didn't hesitate to go off and respond to the fight at hand, but Meleak himself hesitated to do so. His family chose to only observe and stay out of conflicts such as this, with many of the heads even claiming that this will blow ocer and that if it did get worst then the Celestials will come down and smite all those involved with it. However, as he pondered over this more and more and wondered how many bystanders will get caught up by this die before heaven finally get off their rear. Meleak himself finally decided that enough was enough and against his family's wishes and left for the new world alongside Roman in order the resolve the situatioon before a full blown war can form. Much to the suprise and shock of everyone they were successful even created a whole new organiztion that will respond to threats like this in the future and slowly grow a new magic community that will help nuture future magi that can use their gifts to benefit the world as a whole. Eventually him and Roman would expand onto the rest of the world where Meleak would become the Director of the African branch, though he did had to deal with his family initial push back given that it did go against their wishes. Meleak was able to get past this after challenging the previous heads of his family and took over, resulting in a divide among its members to occur and granting his branch with much more resources and access across the continent. Currently resides in his families estate that has been remodeled and made into the head quarters of the African branch of Vigil, and on occasion will pop by the Arcane Institute to give a lecture or two on the modern study of spirits and alchemy.
