Deity

The Gods of Old and Lords of Nature

Ancients civilization beliefs helped create beings of pure aether that embody an idea or beliefs regarding nature. When they initially appeared, they were treated like gods by the mortals that lived under them and overtime would develop power that would rival high tier Celestials.

Basic Information

Genetics and Reproduction

Being based around the dominant life forms of their resident planet, whenever they create a physical form to interact with mortals they can create reproductive organs matching them unlike the Celestials. Though nothing is necessarily conceived until taking a fragment of their own soul combines with newer residual genetic material that later on creates mortals with fragments of divinity referred to as avatars or demi-god.

Biological Cycle

Some tend to change their physical appearance over time as their wisdom expands and the beliefs surrounding them change with the times. Otherwise they remain constantly the same and are typically immortal.

Additional Information

Social Structure

Deities rarely interact with those outside of their domain as they find the culture shock to be annoying to deal with. Normally their hierarchy would really depend on the scope of their worship and their source of belief. For example a deity who embodies or owns a specific forest or patch of land would be bottom of the totem when compared to one that embodies nature as a whole.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Some receive names relating to their skill and culture of birth.

History

Files from the Arcane Institute: Around the areas where leylines would exist, the aether that would leak out would slowly affect lifeforms that resides in the nearby area. These lumps of aether would develop similarly to the average soul but would indirectly latch onto the local lifeforms and morph themselves to match them. These beings are later dubbed Deities, or the Gods of Old. When these beings began to first appear the residing primitives would flock to these beings of immense power and would begin to worship them as their own rulers. These forms of worship would shape each one’s own personality and ideologies basing them around whoever was around to praise them.

These beings would love the attention that they would receive, to the point where they themselves established their own personalized religion just to receive as much love as possible. However, after the events of the Lost Age and the expansion of humanity, many grew tired of 'gods' who couldn't fight the Forsaken on their own. Hell, some of them even went as far as to begin worshiping quite a few of the Celestials that were left monitoring the Earth. A few Deities tried to lash out at their former disciples out of rage for this mistreatment but were pushed back by Celestial that thought that these 'devout' worshippers could have some use in the future.     After a few centuries and the number of followers were declining at a rapid rate, many Deities began to leave the planet in hopes of coming across a primitive planet where the inhabitants would worship them as their gods. Though some have remained behind not caring for the attention and chose to live fairly normal lives. The same have also occurred on other worlds that have suffered a similar fate to earth and have had the same effect on their Deities as well.
