The Tall Road
This massive trade road is a planned construction by the Dwarf Lords of Tall Stones. While many sections of this trade route are already in use, the dwarves are beginning the construction of a formal, stone-paved trade road that will circle the known world and allow faster, safer trade and commerce from the coasts of Eastmarch all the way to the Hi-No Hitobito Empire to the distant west.
Purpose / Function
This large stone-paved road is designed to assist in the rapid, and safe transport of goods and peoples across the world. It was intended originally to be used only for designated trade caravans and Dwarvish military movements, but it was later decided that any free peoples could use the road, so long as they respect the rules associated with it's use.
Architecture
This sturdy stone road is of Dwarven design. It is built up of several interlocking layers, including sub-layers of sand, dirt, gravel, and other semi-solids, then topped by layers of pitch-like tar and large carved stones.
History
Construction formally began on the road in 281 CE, however the initial plan was suggested to the leaders of Tall Stones in 275 CE.
