One of those that moved east from Ost-in-Edhil just prior to the end of the Second Age - In Tharen 's case, this was whilst still a child. Resided for many centuries in Rivendell.

Went into the West but (some say irresponsibily) left a young Son (Quicksilver) behind in Middle Earth.
