Mechanics & Inner Workings
The Boots of Water-Walking are good for use 3 times per day, up to 2 minutes per time – after that they tend to fill with water and you sink. (It takes 24 hours to dry them out if you sink!)
More critically, they appear to also wear more slowly than ordinary boots.
