Supersuit

In modern times, the term 'supersuit' usually refers to a technologically advanced, customized hero uniform or power suit designed by Skalbeck Industries for an Agency hero. In the past, it referred to specifically a superhero's costume worn while in the role.
They became popular after WWII during the Dark Age of Superheroes due to the persecution and poor treatment of metahumans at the time. It was here that the concept of superheroes having secret identities separate from their superhero persona became widespread. They're also considered a prerequisite for every maverick since outside of having an inherited subability, they're more at risk than your avererage metahuman while crimefighting.
Modern supersuits can include, among other things, a bulletproof layer, a virtual intelligence assistant, automatic medigel injectors, and vitals monitors. Every supersuit issued by the Agency comes with a Disguise Modulator. Supersuits are often specifically designed with a metahuman wearer's abilities in mind, whether to make them work in tandem with the suit or to make the suit stay intact and functional in spite of the abilities.
Currently, there are many engineers who design custom supersuits and it's a very attractive job for many young engineers.
