Arlstaph

The Arlstaphs are a prominent Salternian family. Their founder and leader Jaspar Arlstaph is the first Baron of Vensia, b barony that has specifically been formed and granted to him for his services in helping the King of Salternia King Fendegar bring his bride savely into the kingdom during a period of war.
Before nobility, the family held the sole rights of husbandry to a large and fertile stretch of lands in the lands of Vensia and close to the small town of Briga. Their reputation, though, had always been formidable, and their wealth started to grow steadily over several generation before they could fainlly send one of their own to the esteemed Academy of Lorsen to gain a higher education. This would have been the future baron. Jaspar proved to be of no consequential intelligence but rather a man of great charisma and social talents. Upon his return from Lorsen he set himself the goal to make Briga into a town of import and worked his way up the hierarchy, before gaining leave to visit the great merchant cities of Helvara. There, Jaspar gaing powerful allies and businesspartners and returned with many promising contracts to Briga.
After Jaspar Arlstaph married a woman from a richer family, the hefty dowry was invested rather quickly and paid off well. Soon he was inofficially considered as the local authority in Briga before he finally gained the official title of Baron. The baron's wife is busy at work nowadays to forge more alliances for the family by marrying off their many daughters.
The Arlstaphs are the greatest profiteers of nepotism, not only just in Salternia, but all over Grendola, Morisia, the Duchy of Vallande up into the Imperial Courts.
Lately, the Baron Arlstaph is often seen at foreign courts discussing matters of war and trying to build a thriving mercenary economy of the youths in his lands. While its founder is now over forty years old, the new generation of Arlstaphs is quickly following into his footsteps.
